Opposition, libtards opposing Citizenship Amendment Bill

@Mariyam

we are saying the same things essentially,  Faiz is no liberal thinker , but a Muslim intellect and what he is saying against Zia is about using religious supremacy over oppression. What you call iconography, I call it iconoclastic of Islam. Destruction of idols imbibes hatred towards non-believers and radical Islam considers kaffirs as lesser humans not worthyof respect or acknowledgement.  Did Faiz consider Zia a non-believer?

Using this verse of Faiz in CAA protest is equating the government to non-believing oppressor , just like Faiz, is calling for trouble and objectionable. I think even disrupting communal harmony is also included in the sedition law in India.

‘Hum Dekhenge’ To ‘Chalo Dekhein’: Let Us See If Faiz Was A Marxist Or Islamist

We *aren't* saying the same thing.

With all due respect, you probably haven't even come across this piece of literature until the protest. And now you are trying to convince me that it is an Islamic call to overthrow the infidel based on some intentionally incorrect translation of a verse which you look at devoid of any context.

The Day of Qayamat, has been changed to the day of the Revolution. In the last stanza of the poem Faiz insinuates that he is God ( a big no no in Islam) and so is the reader. Which in revolutionary terms means he is the driver of his own destiny and so are the other revolutionaries. This is as Marxist as it gets. This anthology of Faiz's poems won the Lenin Peace Prize (The Soviet equivalent of the Nobel Peace Prize). There is simply no way Soviets were going to fan Islamism. Those have been the ways of the nations on the other side of the Iron Curtain.

There is absolutely NOTHING to suggest any of what you've insinuated:

First off, in Faiz's poem, the oppressor is not a non believer. I don't know where you get that notion from?

Also, even if you decide to gloss over that factoid which drives *your* narrative here, there is nothing to suggest that these students were talking about Modi/Shah. That is open to interpretation and no court is going to count this as a charge of sedition.

In the original video @Gollum posted, there was no translation of the entire first para. Do you know why? Simply because it has no Islamic iconography and only revolutionary phrases. Taking a quote out of context and mistranslating it; is an extremely disingenuous way to build a narrative.

I had come across Faiz earlier as the commies in India love to quote him. Until reading about this verse,I  didn’t realize he was not an atheist as commies made him out to be, in India. I referred to three different translations and all referred to ‘but’ as idols and that verse refers to Mohd’s destruction of idols in Kaaba. Agreed that video translated wrongly, but this gist of it remains, Allah will be vindicated in the end. What kind of non-religions peaceful protest is that, that too , in the context of CAA?

Here’s another interpretation of ‘I am the truth’ verse

Bas naam rahega Allah ka
Jo ghayab bhi hai hazir bhi
Jo manzar bhi hai nazir bhi
Utthega an-al-haq ka nara
Jo mai bhi hoon tum bhi ho
Aur raaj karegi Khalq-e-Khuda
Jo mai bhi hoon aur tum bhi ho
[Only The name will survive
Who cannot be seen but is also present
Who is the spectacle and the beholder, both
I am the Truth- the cry will rise,
Which is I, as well as you
And then God’s creation will rule
Which is I, as well as you]

Faiz comes back to the issue of finitude of humans and their societies, and reminds us that besides God, every other entity is going to perish. Following the traditional Islamic discourse, Faiz defines Allah through contradictions, [cannot be seen but is also present], or [who is both the spectacle and the beholder]. In the last two couplets of the poem, Faiz talks about the legendary mystical quote of Islamic history: anal haq i.e. I am the truth. As Quran explicitly rejects religious mediation through any class clerical or otherwise, individuals themselves become careers of religious knowledge and enlightenment in Faiz’s Islamic imagination.”

In the first time. He is praising Allah as one who is infinite. This interpretation says, there is no need for a mediation to reach Allah just like you and me. I don’t think he is saying I am god. Also, in the second time, he is saying you and I are Allah’s creations.

As you claimed here he is not just a Marxist, he is a Muslim first , using Muslim beliefs to fit in the classless , raceless social message of Marxism. I don’t believe awards can be used to prove a point. Obama, Arafat are also such awardees, even Modi got a UAE highest award, Ravish jaathvaadi getting Magsaysay etc.

Isn’t he insinuating that Zia, the oppressor, will be destroyed , just like how Mohd did to the idols of Kaaba?

Of course, only the controversial parts are shown, the video was attached to a complaint sent to the authorities of IIT Cawnpore(BTW, Many peaceful engineers in the crowd there :giggle:) Besides, everybody was peacefully listening until the last verse which said  “bas naam rahega Allah ka”.

Won’t drag it further. You say he is a Marxist Muslim, Instead of Muslim Marxist, kya fark  padta  hain?

Kerala and WB are two separate kind of Islamist problems. WB  is the long conquest game: illegal Muslims from Bangladesh come in, set up shop and clear out Hindus from their area and take over. Long term plan : to unite Bengal with the mullah 2/3rd.

They are bloodyminded about slow creep but are not the most politically active or rich.

Kerala has millionsn of gulf Muslim malloos funding them. In my time in ME met quite a few ‘arabized’ mallu muslims - like dress like one, fluent in Arabic and desperately looking for any Arab wife to become citizen in the gulf. They have crap ton of money they funnel into Kerala mallu community. Kerala is not about slow Muslim takeover, it’s about significant minority slowly becoming the elite minority by leveraging money. They are way more political and outwardly aggressive in agenda.

Please wake me up when there are mass protests around the world by hindus to condemn this act of desecration.. oh wait we are a fuddu kaum.

No, we are busy telling the world about “Vasudaiva  kutumbakam”  and “Ahimsa paramo dharmaha” while liberals are painting us as saffron terrorists out to destroy the idea of India. Well, the idea of India is in the Quam that wants to reform at every constitutional khatra.
