Shaw/Rohit, Mayank, pujara, Kohli, rahane, Vihari.

Where is the space?

Rahane should be phased out. He could not do justice to his extended run and notwithstanding his latest decent patch, Gill should be phased in. He is already better than what Rahane ever has been.

avg 71 last yr isnt decent its outstanding . He is not 35 that we start to think of phasing him out . He just had to below avg year in his test career which most players do.

It is outstanding yes for that period only. But if last three years performance is concerned, it is not upto the mark. Rahane can't complain of not getting a proper free run even during his bad days. If he fails in NZ we should look forward.

He has done enough to earn that backing, he was avg 48-50 before his bad phase so he had every right to that backing
