Look at how ICFers were talking in 2015 saying why compare with Rohit. And now probably most ICFers will say how can you compare with Rohit.

Rohit Sharma is Ace against Pace On the other hand This dude was struggling to even put away Starc for a single. The most he can aspire is to be a potent Slogger in Middle Overs against Spinners and Not suck against Pace .

I am not a fan of Rohit ....but it will be disgrace to Rohit , if you compare Iyer with Rohit....


Rohit it probably most free flowing batsmen ever....on the flat tracks, no one is better than him...

Iyer is more about power and Rohit is all about timing

Last ODI Starc bowled 19 balls to Iyer. He made 30 runs. What are you yapping man.

I only described Iyer for what he is with regards to his Comparison with rohit...Have some perspective before coming across as Jingoistic chest thumper.

Yeah When Aussie were dead and buried already. He was made to look like tailender in 2nd Odi by Starc and Co when India was trying to up the ante .

based on some earlier posts were you started off  with the whole badmaashi,jaanbaazi,sarfaroshi, chewtiyapanti shtick that’s usually associated, it felt your post was in that flavor.

 

If you have mellowed down since and just want to participate in cricket discussion like a normal cricket fan, and your thoughts are based on the cricket you are watching ,your opinions are welcome. There are still a few Indian fans who are not sold on Iyer either, however I think he has done no harm to his reputation the last 2 games.

You cannot predict who will click who will not.  KL looked good in Tests only in patches for a long time. Even now he hasn't achieved the consistency.  So was Rohit.  We have to stop typecasting players.  For the record even Dube played a couple of decent knocks in India A tour.

It's hard for openers to be consistent these days, the only ones who've been over the last 5 years (Warner, Latham?) have played a lot of tests at home! I'd take any opener who can score a hundred or two in away series over let's day consistency. Of course both would be ideal but we don't have that luxury.

They are all good.

I still believe in saini coming back strong.

Thakur can be the bowling all rounder for sena

Washy is going to explode

Dube has potential in tests. He can be very useful. 

Shankar was another one we missed out on for tests. Wrong format picks as usual by India. 

Panchal is solid

Eeshwaran looks good for the future. 

 

I am not sure about iyer. Iyer may do well in asia. Unless he magically fixes his issue vs short ball, he will struggle vs sena.
