We are a poor odi side

When the main players return ,we are still a formidable side and most will fear us but it's the chokability of our side which proves to be the Achilles heel .

Our main problem is our timid,methodical approach to the modern game ,we lack X factor

let me explain - watching english cricket in the 90s was a certainty of a theme - formula batting , formula bowling and some decent home performances but nothing great and zero icc trophies . 
 

our current team has similar vibe 

 

- no power players 

- openers who do not use power play well 

- lack of quality all rounders 

- inexplicable formulas and excuses - 

 

example 

 

we believe in process not results 

 

- a toxic captain with more toxic coach . A board which focussed more on ipl than its loi format players 

 

 

we deserve a 3-0 thrashing and hope we have some more 

 

At least the old English side had the excuses of caring less about ODI cricket, and having a lack of talented player pool.

 

Our team's guilty of choosing tactics that lead to predictable results.  In spite of having options.  

 

Its a lot worse.  They use those formulas, because those formulas give the best probability of individual statistical achievements for the zamindars occupying the top order batting slots.  They have correctly identified the arbitrage opportunity.  After all, if India exits the World Cup tournament that it should have won due to "30 minutes of chaos" - the leadership can get away scotfree behind "at least we made semi final".  Everybody moves on.  And Virat can keep raking in his millions.

Of course this flawed team with poor leadership will still win more  games than it loses. But that's not good enough.

Even they didnt have their full bowling attack - boult, henry, fergueson, santner, williamson

 

Didnt have williamson in 1st 2 games who is there backbone

Missed santner also last game

 

So both sides lost player due to injuries

We have the talent to rule for next 10-15 yrs but need some strong changes in whole setup

Unfortunately Indian cricket LOI selections are influenced by IPL. Let's be honest - KL Rahul was given enough opportunities and consistent run only after he was made the captain of KXIP. Same case with Shreyas Iyer too. How can one explain the inclusion of Rayudu only after he joined CSK? How are Kedar Jadhav, Shardul Thakur even considered for the squad when you're sure enough they won't last longer than 6 months - 1 year? Indian cricket will continue to go down until the brat clown is impeached and bevda is blasted out of the door. They will make sure the selections are all partisan and continue winning against lesser sides and go missing when tough challenges outside India arise. They have no strategies and are only focused on process because hey, they can't win.

As soon as our bowling has gone down the drain, the team is suffering. We let them chase scores which a year or so back we would have easily defended. Fix the bowling and we start dominating again.

i dont think we are poor,its just our bowlers are not getting early wickets and our spinners are dog ****  too.Its plain Kulcha needs to go,bring in new spinners who can get wickets .
