vvvslaxman Posted February 12, 2020 Posted February 12, 2020 Looking at how Roy goes on the offensive in the firs six it is high time we realize we need hitting power from both ends. Keeping that in mind India should try to phase out Dhawan from T20. Even Rohit takes time. We cannot have 2 players taking time upfront. Dhawan is a recipe for disaster.
zen Posted February 12, 2020 Posted February 12, 2020 Ideally, would prefer the below in the near term (unless factors such as form or new talent need to be considered): Shaw/Gill .... Will also keep Jaiswal in mind KL Kohli Iyer Pant Pandya
Jimmy Cliff Posted February 12, 2020 Posted February 12, 2020 Approach has to change in both LOI formats. Only 1-2 batsmen (usually the ones batting at 3 and 4) can have the license to "get their eye in". The rest have to get on with it. England follow a similar strategy with Root being the only accumulator in the line-up. zen, velu and sergio04 3

Ankit_sharma03 Posted February 12, 2020 Posted February 12, 2020 Problem england have - whom to play in top 3 Butler Roy Bairstrow Banton Root Dawid malan Look at powerhouse of options they have and they can also throw stokes, moeen ali, sam curran , denly at 3 as well. This is what u call problem of plenty Probelm India has , Kohli has benched KL for dhawan in many t20 games and still can. Kohli will find ways to fit in Dhawan diehardpacer 1
ShoonyaSifar Posted February 12, 2020 Posted February 12, 2020 Roy after 21 ODIs - was averaging 28 and had a SR of 97. After 28 T20Is has an avg of 20 and SR of 136. Pant has a avg of 27 and SR of 103 after 16 ODIs and an average of 21 at a SR of 122 after 28 T20s but has been abandoned. English captain and coach did not abuse a young Roy publicly or blamed him for team’s failures. They backed him and assigned him a role in which he’s blossomed. diehardpacer, nevada and Vijy 3
