Need 2-3 middle order test bats urgently as we may need to replace Rahane, Pujara, Rohit and may be even Kohli

Kohli??? He is fine

No one will ever score runs every game every series every year.

As of now there is no captaincy material in test side apart from Kohli

Pujara - avg 35 in SENA and every expert around the world is now criticizing him for not converting poor balls into runs that is the biggest issue as captain. Next test we play wud be end of this year so when we get into full test circle again he ll be 33 and he doesnt have great fitness either. The next time we go to SA n ENG he ll be 33-35 with already a question mark overseas.

Rahane- Inconsistent

Ashwin- Again doesnt own a place overseas ....also he lacks attitude

Fast bowlers - cant be risked as captain these days

Rest most dont have a fixed spot in team forget captaincy

Rahane is a semi decent pick. Captaincy might make him more secure and improve his batting form a little bit.

OP you tried your best, now give it a rest

No one is buying it here, Puji is trying some beer

All your efforts will fail, sent Puji those exact words by mail

He said never mind, now doncha get yourself in a bind

Go back to taking shots at Sharma, for slow starter blots Team India's karma

Or better yet go save trees, a request put forth by brave bees

Understand that  .. my point being we need to prepare the backups 2 years in advance.  It took the current middle order almost 2 years to produce consistent goods

Rahane far more suited to captaincy than Pujara. Pujara is too quiet, a private person.

Or go with someone like Mayank. People are saying this loss is not on Virat - agreed, this was a collective failure of batting line up. But Kohli's selection whimsicalities, his obsessions with short-term results over long-term planning, his need for yes-men as coach....this has a debilitating effect on team's performance in long run. We are dominating at home because of deep talent pool suited to our conditions, coupled with decline in standards of other teams. Kohli's captaincy is incidental to our dominance at home.

Ganguly said it right, at home, things run on auto-pilot at home for the most part. The one home series where we were challenged - by Aus in 2017, it was the Rahane-Kumble duo who won the decider in Dharmashala for us by blooding Kuldeep and some smart captaincy by Rahane.

People who care for test cricket, know the game is not the same with a good leader

Pujara is made for the long format and its best reader

Ind’s potential is not reached, because ppl at the helm clip its wing

With such a destiny, you will find ppl who oppose a potentially good king

Left to its fate, it could be too late

Unless someone like Pujara guides the team to the gate

This is why Kohli targeted Rahane, dropping him and making him insecure.

I have a feeling u are right. Hard to believe that a guy like Kohli wld allow  pro-kumble guys in the squad to get away without showing them who's boss - Rahane, KL, Pujara, Kuldeep, Vijay...I don't see these guys having any problems with kumble, and they are the ones who suffered most due to Kohli's bizarre selections after kumbles  departure. Even though he played both Kuldeep and Chahal in LOIs for 1 year, Kohli always favoured the later.

the single most reason for the pathetic performance of the team in SENA in this decade..  Pujara .... and here there is a campaign for making him captain....

Whoa, Pujara is definitely not captaincy material, but he is also the one batsman responsible for our ONLY win in SENA in last decade. Underperformed in Eng and NZ, that's true.

Has turned it around in a way. Avgs 60 in SENA since his 132* in Eng.  Scored 72 in a test before that 132 in Eng.

His 2n innings in the first NZ test was very disappointing - 11 off 81 is just not acceptable from a top order bat, but maybe that's Pujara for u - someone who will give this kind of strokeless, pointless innings once in a while, but then he gives u the magnificent Adelaide test type crucial first innings runs which set up a match and series, or the 132* in Eng u mentioned. At home, he's been a rock for us, so his place as a batsman in the team is a definite lock for me.

You seem to love pandya bros, pujara, jaddu, axar patel and talk rubbish about all other players.

You post alot stats for other players right? here it is for pujara and his performance overseas. Totally rubbish. One great performance against weak aus and that's all he has done till now. For now he don't even deserves to be in playing xi imo with such performance.

Aus bowling was one of their best. So weak aus do not hold out.
