Kerala flattened the curve a week back and most of the badly affected districts (initially) have no active case now, awesome public health system in the state. We must be proud that we have our own South Korea, hats off to Vijayan and Shailaja. Kerala will be known as the graveyard of Nipah and Corona, you guys must take a look at some of the articles about how the state dealt with the crisis, a lesson for all other states and so called developed countries.

The lady in below image, Shailaja Teacher is one of the most remarkable women in the country...saying this even though she is a commie, respect

12 People Down With Corona In Kerala: Need For Greater Vigil ...

Communist govts have historically fared well when it comes to public healthcare, Cuba is another example. Only in Bengal did Left Front rule for 35 years and nothing to show for in the end, useless *ers , I mean we are worse than most Hindi belt states. Now under Mamata we are a basketcase, I can assure you there are a lot of lies being told about numbers in the state, delays and denials there will screw rest of India.

And you are sure they aren't hiding things like China. Communists are difficult to be trusted.

They have been more transparent than all other states, since February. And they have a good track record, remember Nipah?

@Gollum

In today's political environment the titles 'communist' / 'socialist' that a party sticks with has no relevance.

I think you attach too much importance to the name.

The 'Communists' in Kerala have been pro-private enterprise via FDI in their state since the 90s.

There is nothing Communist in the Kerala CPI-M

There is nothing Nationalist in the NCP from Maharashtra

There is nothing for the Janta in the BJP and so on....

Due to increase in tests?

Possibly.

May also signal the expected increased transmission rate.

Either way, we have a battle ahead.

Heat theory is flop show.

Heat may weaken transmission. But it's certainly not going to weaken transmission sufficiently in packed Indian cities.

A warm country like Singapore has seen huge cases. So temperature is not a crucial factor in transmittion.

And we got our lockdown in right moment, without it we would have had a 6 digit number of cases.

If this virus has strands of HIV then doubt heat will have an effect on it.

Quote

The COVID-19 lockdown will be imposed completely in areas within Chennai, Madurai and Coimbatore Municipal Corporations from 6 a.m. on April 26 to 9 p.m. on April 29, Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami announced on Friday.

In a statement, the Chief Minister also announced that the complete lockdown would be imposed in Salem and Tiruppur Municipal Corporations from 6 a.m. on April 26 to 9 p.m. on April 28. In all other areas other than these Municipal Corporations, existing restrictions would continue to be in place.

However, he clarified that all essential services would continue to operate. Hospitals, clinical labs, ambulances and allied services, health, police, revenue and electricity departments, Aavin, local administration and drinking water supply would continue to function.

Why did he say 9 PM on 29/4 and why not till 6 am on 30/4. Its not like we would be out partying like a rockstar after 9 PM. Anyway we will party hard inside our homes :partyall:

Singapore has just 12 deaths so they may have tested too many asymptomatic people . The cases are still nothing where rapid antibody test is showing that 1 in 5 New York people, 2.7 million  people has antibodies.

The majority of Singapore's cases are in the dormitories that house migrants from India, Pak, Philippines, etc. These migrants are very young - mostly between 18 and 35 years old. But I do hope Singapore does a good job controlling these breakouts in migrant dormitories.
