Chennai going out of control...TASMACs to be opened on 7th...Corona would be licking it's lips..

Madras High court orders closure of all Tasmac shops until lockdown is completely lifted. Online sales permitted though. The judgement comes in after Kamal Haasan's MNM and other parties filed a case.

Hate to see a number of deaths involving people in their 50s

Because over 65 population is less India, you will see

1. Less overall deaths per capita

2. average death age to be say 65, meaning 50% people dying below age 65...in richer countries, 90% deaths will be in over 65 age group.

No surprises.

Went out in the evening around 6pm today for a walk to buy a few things.. Noticed that most people were wearing masks except a few. Unsurprisingly 4 of them had skull caps but not a mask.  Why this indifference to other's lives ?

ps: Before people start getting into a twist, urge you to judge this for yourself in your part of the city.

Just heard about somebody I knew (college junior of wife) passing away from covid complications, devastating. It’s hitting home close now.  This pandemic seems very real now.

I too learned of someone being diagnosed. 60+ male with diabetes. So far moderate symptoms but no hospitalization needed. He is being watched, however, since things can turn bad very quickly.

4353 cases in single day  , the fourth highest in world after USA , Russia , Brazil.

These cases didn't happen in one day. These are results of tests done a few days before.

Mumbai's 3500 beds are all occupied. Gap between beds to be reduced to accommodate some more beds. 50k total cases expected by end of month. Scary for the city's residents.

50k?

Where are you reading this?

There are only 3500 beds? Didn't they convert the NSCI into one large quarantine area with ~500 beds?
