cricketfan28 Posted August 28, 2020 Posted August 28, 2020 This one is better than the other one. 42 is a decent avg.
zen Posted August 28, 2020 Author Posted August 28, 2020 From those on the list, below would be a good top 6 to take on that Aus 11 Sehwag Anwar/Vaughan Laxman Lara Pieterson Kallis/Cairns (batsman who can bowl v bowler who can bat) Laaloo 1

coffee_rules Posted August 29, 2020 Posted August 29, 2020 Digging and comparing 3 tests performances to put down a great is a low. And mocking a great is no great shakes. Dravid shat stones in 99 and o4 and in SA when the going was tough. If anybody saw the 1998 series of Aus when Sachin and Azhar decimated Warne , you would know the difference between chalk and cheese. Sachin had 16 100s between 07-10 . So there will be peaks not in some organized stat gazing. Quit and watch videos or read match reports. Otherwise only trolls will mock greatness. It is not easy to maintain consistency for 24 years in cricket diga, Number, Laaloo and 4 others 3 4

This is a discussion on "batting when both McGrath and Warne are playing". Almost everyone on the list is an accomplished player with good career highlights. Some players would be appreciated for their good performances, some pointed out for their average ones. If you want to point out or praise a player, feel free to do so but within the parameters of the topic (the title describes it).

coffee_rules Posted August 29, 2020 Posted August 29, 2020 (edited) ^^Dravid has 4 tests 332 runs with one score of 180. It is a skewed analysis to show his high ave, while he averaged 30.x in other 5 innings. So your sample size for the OP is too low Edited August 29, 2020 by coffee_rules

The data on how batsmen performed in top order and middle order per the topic. There is no preference for one player or the other. So what you are trying to suggest is outside the scope of the topic (there is no point for me to over such basics and to spoon feed) If you are looking at only Dravid & Sachin, when both batted in MO, Dravid has a better average. If Sachin batted in top order like Dravid, his average could have been even less than Dravid's or if Dravid batted more in the MO, he could have a better avg.
