This is some courageous and brave reporting, unlike shouting from some studio and running hashtags. Hats off to this lady Tanushree Pandey.

The less said about our police force the better. What a disgrace.

The video where Police is pleading with family is available and was shown by who you call shouting studio. So she is saying nothing new. I still believe, We are and will see reprecursions of closing  Amnesty International. They will try few days, no doubt about it.

This crime was committed in a village. Their is very little chance of rape as village society is very social and public sex/rape would mean the killers to become outcast from their caste and society. Not only killers but their family and few of their generations. Murder is not seen as that bad in UP Society.

vultures on their way to do politics. A total of 16 rapes have been reported in Congress ruled Rajasthan in the last 3 days but Pappu thinks it’s more important to go to Hathras to do his political roulette.

#ActLikePappu trending in India....

I dont understand this selective outrage against 'upper castes' and the Yogi government.

When Dalits get murdered/raped by Muslims and other dalits then its ok- no one bats an eyelid. But when the perpetrator is a non dalit hindu then all hell breaks lose. The fact is that focus has shifted from the condemning the individuals and making sure they pay for their heinous crimes to blame game on brahmins and BJP.

People complaining that pappu was arrested on his way to Hathras, when did he rush to see the families of rape victims in Rajasthan? Does Congress states law and order not matter? or is it just a political game they wanted to play with the dead body of the poor girl before the Bihar elections.

What right does the govt have to decide what the family can or cannot do with the body?  If the family did not want the body cremated right away, its up to them.  The police has no business forcing them to do so.

I am no fan of using dead bodies for 'dharna' etc, but thats not the point.  What's wrong is wrong.  If you start justifying the police trampling on citizen's right under "ends justify the means" you end up with a dictatorship.

You are right.

It is looking more and more like a case of the family being forced to cremate. Specially with the news that post mortem report  says no rape happened. The report should have been made public before cremating. Now it looks more and more like a case of evidence destruction to save the culprits .

Now the administration look like they  are standing with the culprit rather than the victim.

The politics behind the rapes in UP and Rajasthan  have turned so disgusting . The victims are just being used .

The urgency shown in cremation makes this even more suspicious. Now it is the administration that needs to prove its innocence .

Shameful . Heads need to roll.

Horrible tragedy and atrocious handling by authorities. Unless BJP wanted to manage the headlines and move focus from SSR CBI screwups or Farmers agitation, I don’t see any reason why the authorities hurriedly cremates the body last night.

As it’s a BJP ruled state and Yogi is always monitored by activists (they don’t even know a similar case in Rajasthan), Yogi might as well follow the TRS way and encounter the accused on the site inspection night.

1. When cremation happened, family was 100mtrs from pyre.
Media reported: Family was not allowed. Police burnt it

2. Ambulance  couldnt reach to home because there wasn’t a Road. And only reached to neighbours house.

Media Reported: Body didn’t reach the home from Delhi AIIMS Hospital and was taken directly to cremation.

3.  Village women are ones stopping Media to enter Village.

Media Reported: We are invited by women of family.

I can go on and on. Media is lieing. Raga/Congress offered 50 lakh to girls brother and its recording are played. No wonder DM advised them, Media and Politicians will go away tomorrow. Take justice and Compensation

Just becuase it happened in history , it has to happen even today. Women were burned alive with their dead husbands too in the past for many centuries for no fricking reason.Everyone accepted it also till Raja Ramohan Rai did something about it.

It is culture of treating women as dirt rags has to change, these bloody morons with false masculinity have to be executed in public. What is point of having all the wealth and power if you cannot protect your women. This is just so sad.

Absolutely agree with every word.  Not justifying it.  Just responding to the idea that "the world is going to hell in a hand-basket," with the point that the world has been hell for women always, but they silently suffered.  Greater awareness today will hopefully lead to more justice in the future.

India as a country has no right to talk about morality in any walk of life until these heinous crimes against women are eradicated. These fricking politicians. media and police have no shame, always trying to find ways to cash in on the situation,.

These guys are worse than vultures who atleast feed on dead things.

India has relatively little crime against women compared to any country of world.

What you read in Commies edited History books is not all the truth. A lot of Hindu kings like Shivaji have also banned the Sati Prata much before RRMR and the East India Company. It was mainly used by EIC to justify their use of British Miliary to expand territorial control of India for their advantage. This myth about  Sati system which supposed to prevalent in all over India was spread. Although, there is very little data in historical evidence of personal anecdotes can be found to say it was all over India that people were burning widows. Even in puranas and ithihasa, there have been very few instances. While Kunti didn't do. madri did. Only one of Dashrathas wives did and not all his wives. Read Meenakshi Jain's book on Sati which has enough historical data and context to this issue. Thiis system was more among Rajput villages where the Satied woman were worshipped later. And not in Bengal at all where RRMR was supposed to have fought for banning this evil practice. I am not defending the Sati Prata here, it is a cruel inhuman practice, but it was not accepted all over India. There is very little evidence of it, more so the south, nobody has heard about it until we read in our NCERT books that how evil our ancestors were.
