We may not need Virat the captain but we certainly do need Virat the ODi as batsman as Sharma has started gettign injured frequently. Have to live with his captaincy as it does seems until and unless he plays, he will be the captain.

I was waiting for the outcome of his innings tonight to see the pattern. And there is no doubt he has not won a single match chasing for India when the match is still on & not over. Today's match & the match against England comes to mind. Bowlers didn't bowl to his strength & he was choked.

He has limited options & unfortunately another Indian batsman who has no unorthodox shots. A crisp & clean hitter of the ball but there are no reverse flicks, no scoop shot etc, relatively easier to restrict. Desperately need 1-2 innovative batsman along with Pandya.

Scoring runs when match is out of hand and other team is not even trying is not that great. That is what Pandya has done for his last two big scores. Has he shown he can score 20 ball 50 which is needed these days from no6 or 7. Once he does against good bowlers then we can talk about him as a player.

 

Till then he is just bits and pieces players.

 

It was brave of him to bail his captain out by bowling in this match.

Pace bowling in his arc is what he loves. Cummins dished that out to him in IPL, but today did what was needed. Outside off and mix up your lengths and he struggles. Not good enough if he is just going to target one side of the boundary

If he scored like Maxwell , he played more deliveries, match would have been lot closer but does he have the ability like Maxwell to score around the wicket.

U really thought chasing 390 we had a chance that to when wen were never at par with run rate through out the innings.

 

This is why its called high risk game coz it doesnt come off everyday. Even dhoni had many such innings where he just kept looking for timing. 

Batsman job is to score runs and they dont do it every day, hitter job is to hit every day and that will also not come off everyday

Joker kaptaan's style of batting is long gone who thinks batting at SR 100 is enough on these roads ,those chewts(one joker disciple here) who talk about Pandya's 360° batting ask themselves did they ever see Joker kaptaan cut a delivery, seriously limited imposter joke of a kaptaan

Shaant hoja bhai. Just saying India needs 1-2 more dynamic players along with Pandya, who have innovative/unorthodox shots in their repertoire. Pandya is good, he can smash the spinners & do his job. But India need another couple to make it a complete side.

Aus scored 118 in last 10 overs.

We have 131 to score.

So it was not much difference but Pandya completely killed that with stinker of an over against Cummins in 41st.

I know it is not going to come off everyday but the way he played was totally embarrassing.

Clever hitters try to find a way to score when things don't go their way instead of blindly swinging.
