Team India will keep going downhill as long as Kohli and Shastri retain their jobs as captain and coach

captain has a lot of say in team selections. Do you think any player that kohli has asked for isn't picked or played?

I never said Kohli did not get his players. But do we have players who can match teams to score 389. We don't have any players and Rohit Sharma is out , if he was there India could match their top three. India has been unbalanced team since 2011.They have not replaced Yuvraj .

Indian team will win only when bowlers pick wickets , India simply does not have firepower to match big hitting teams. I don't see any great players in system either. That is my personal view. Lower order hitting is a big problem for this team for last 7 or 8 years.

Shastri is a national disgrace and Kohli is not far behind.

If there are no consequences after this shytshow they put on then they will continue doing the same.

The tone was set nearly a decade back, with Dhongi, nothing will happen to this fake aggro poser & the eternal drunkard

What do you want him to do?Shastri is out and you are in what will  you do to change? Why is it not good for one man to captain all formats as long as he is good .

If I am in.

I will make Rohit the ODI captain.

Drink less.

Take power away from Kohli.

Stay sober.

Ask Bumrah, Shammi and Jadeja to sit out next game.

Drink tea.

Have a long term plan involving multiple bowler and bats.

Not drink.

Get a full time analytics guy.

Quit drinking

And the list goes on and on.

Not make excuses after not winning a WC.

After Kumble's saga, it was pretty obvious where this shitshow was headed. That was the biggest clue of things to come.

Getting rid of Kumble to please Kohli was the most corward move by BCCI. Ever.

Haha.

Instead of accepting that bowling was trash here we come with yet another thread on captaincy.

We never learn.

I am actually waiting for the second test lets see what excuses we come up with.

I agree immediate problem was bowling indeed. Kohli is the long term problem.

All I see is one point Rohit becoming odi captain ,India will magically become great team and will win everything according to you.

What is that long term plan???  to have a plan you need players.

I am not making excuses for Shastri but India was unlucy with Dhawan injury and other injuries in world cup. And playing next day in morning. You need luck to win these knockout matches sometimes.  I don't understand why people are so bothered by his drinking.

IMO slightly behind dumping a national (chairman?) selector to please his team's posse, you say nepotism that was as blatant as daylight murder on a crowded street!

Injuries are part of game. A good coach has contingency plan and Shastri has none.

Rohit is one change I will make but read my post further.

Will he play the remaining players in the last ODI who did not get a chance to play. He has backwrd thinking and cannot make that bold decision.

Last and the most important thing I will do as a coach is not be Kohli's friend.

These morons think team India is their personal property.

Kohli was doing well as a skipper as long as Dhoni was behind the stumps, with Dhoni gone and Rohit in bad terms, there is no shadow to save yourself from the Sun, its Burn time.

This is key. Over the years I’ve watched bowlers credit Dhoni innumerable number of times. Heck, even Rohit got credit from bowlers while being vice captain. You will rarely, if ever, hear bowlers credit Kohli.

It makes absolutely no sense that suddenly 3-4 top bowlers of the world become completely ineffective all at the same time. It indicates poor training, strategy, and on field tactics are to blame.

If Shastri as a coach could not make bold decision, he would have not dropped Rahane in SA for first two tests while starting out as a coach in 2018.Shastri is anything and everything but he is not timid at all. I read your post  , how do you know they don't have analytical guy in the team , every team has them even IPL teams have them.

Captain is always the boss in cricket and it should always remain that way. This is not football. If captain does not like coach, coach should be out or don't make that player captain.

Shastri as a coach has nothing to show for. No wins, nothing. If he is so bold he needs to stop sucking upto Kohli.

Which coach in his right mind would bring an inexperienced player at the world stage game? Rahane was an easy target. How about Dhoni well past his peak.

Let me ask you a simple question if he was not the coach of Indian team would any IPL franchise pick him as a coach.

Once again Shastri represents everything that is wrong with the system. I am amazed how this leech has made it so far.

What wins he needs to show, he has made this team compete in all conditions. India flopped miserably in away tests till he became the coach then atleast they have competed in all the tests before this NZ series. He has won odi and t20 series everywhere. He won Asia cup too.Only thing he did not win was world cup. What else do you want from a coach in 3 years.

I would not want any of the IPL coaches to coach Indian team. Maybe Flemming/Mahela. IPL is after foreign coaches, are any Indian coaches coaching in IPL as head coaches.  IPL is not barometer for anything. Why do people mix IPL with international cricket.

Dhoni does not have IPL 100s Saha has 2 if I am not wrong, will I want Dhoni to be my wk in all formats or Saha. Answer is Dhoni always. So don't bring IPL into discussion here.

System is there to help players grow, system cannot create players if there is no talent in the system. If system could create players we would have rolled 100  Kapil Devs by now.

Had RCB won single IPL under Joke of a Kaptaan ,a certain poster would have brought IPL as barometer in every discussion but he conveniently ignores his years of mediocrity while leading a side in a domestic tournament to prove his point(agenda)

Joke of a fan rather

This guy is still abusing youngsters go defend Kohli's incompetence. IPL 'does not matter' because Kohli sucks in it as a leader.

India A, India emerging, India u-23s  have won almost everything they have played in Aus, SA, Eng, NZ, WI and Asia. Have been the most dominant A side amonngst all. Without talent, they wouldn't have done it. But the moment they come to the national team led by an insecure undeserving captain, who has surrounded himself with yesmen as coaching staff, and prefers chanchas all around him, they struggle to fit in. The setup does not care for them and is focussed on pandering to the ego of the the star players, who are mostly captain's friends. Random decisions are hallmark of this leadership

If it was one or two youngsters, would have been easy to blame them but if it is happening to everyone of them, anyone with slightest understanding of team sport would know the rot begins at the top.

For starters one prefer a settled team going into WC. They way India was trying to find replacements for positions in during the WC was his failure. He should have been fired after that debacle.

@putrevus Hey there Kohlitard!

These are not 370-400 pitches that we are playing on.

No bowling plans, no field settings, poor bowling changes, horrible body language etc.

This retard captain was only giving 2 over spells to the bowlers like it’s a T20 game.
