So who will be the backup if Vihari fails? Are they even match ready? This is the limitations of this team management. They are just too incompetent to even think along these lines.

What do we expect from Hanuma Vihari, i dont think he is suited for no. 6 position, he plays like a number 3 batsman.

He should play at 4 after Kohli goes. It is clear that rahane prefers to play at 5 and Gill will have more freedom to play his natural game at 6. If Pujara and Vihari can grind out a session or two in the middle, it will be much easier for the next batsmen to play strokes like last time at sydney. Pant was able to play with freedom because Pujara and Kohli tired the bowlers on day 1

His bowling can be handy if we go with 4 quicks, or even in 3+1 attack where spinner isn't Ashwin. But yeah unless he does something remarkable in the coming couple of series he will make way for superior talent like Gill.

Oh come on man.

A guy with such a limited array of strokes should never play at 4.

No.4 batsman needs to go big at a good strike rate and Vihari doesn't fit the bill, Rahul does.

Gill should open, why change his position when he hasn't done anything wrong.

I realise that we need a part timer but is that so important that we can give chance to a batsman who isn't suited for that position.

In the pink ball game, the real challenge starts in the evening session. Hence we must score with a positive frame of mind in pink ball tests and look to bat aggressively.

We should look to post 225-4 till tea on Day 1 when we bat first. Hence, its important to drop Pujara in the first test and go with an attacking mindset in pink ball test.

Mayank

Shaw

Gill

Kohli

Rahane

Vihari

Panty(wkt)

Ashwin

Umesh

Bumrah

Pujara should be back in 2nd test but the evening session is basically bread and butter for fast bowlers and if we are at 155-3 till tea, we will still be all-out by 230. Hence, bat aggressively with more intent and look to post 225-4 till tea and rather go all out at 280-290.

One of the most idiotic suggestions ever made in this forum dropping Pujara. When india will be 42/6 facing inform cummins and hazelwood under lights.. enough said
