why would TN govt take this decision before consulting TNCA? Are they having any other sporting events in feb?

These are general covid guidelines for public functions which include the sporting events. Upto event organisers to consider it.

For the first test it leaves TNCA very little time to make necessary security arrangements. Maybe they will try to have some spectators for the 2nd test.

Think the teams would also need to have a say. Not sure I’d be happy about it as Indian crowds aren’t renowned for keeping their distance

After watching the Natarajan "welcome back" video, it is difficult to imagine if any social distancing guidelines are or will be followed ... people in subcon probably just do not care

It's been like that since atleast 6 months. There's no point in social distancing now, most people must have already got and recovered from covid

I dont recall English players being asked to interact with fans during the test match so what's the issue?

Just seems a bit risky having people outside the bubble in the ground. Perhaps I’m looking at it from too much of a western stance, with the way this virus and how to avoid catching it having taken over our lives, in Europe at least
