Gill is not an opener, does not have the technique. Looks like a middle order batter.

should  be a no.3 in odis and tests. Shouldn’t play T20

you are not watching.look at some some of his dismissals even in australia,he gets lazy feet.i feel he is not an opener,he needs to bat at 3.

I don't think he is no3 maybe no4 or no5.No3 has to be prepared to bat second ball of an innings.

What has he done to become no3 in odis?

he made his career as a no.3 during u-19 and that was the position that made him stand out. So you are saying a 20 year old doesn’t have enough body of work to be tried at a position?

Yeah, 91 in the second innings at the Gabba was just awful.

rofl good one. he was on beast mode vs prime cummins. will never forget that effort. stunning player. i dont care, give gill a whole series in india first.

Yes, he does not merit any spot in top 3 in odis.Let him do well in format he has been chosen first before making him a fixture in other formats. Comparing under 19 thing has to stop. Under19 cricket and this level cricket has no comparision.

I am just worried about 5 tests in England this summer. Not bothered about these home tests as I know we will win anyway. But with that feet movement, he will struggle in England against Anderson & co.

gill is a generational talent. just too young and raw. potential is clearly visible. he just takes some time to settle in. give him some time.

tbf i have seen his A tour games vs n.z. he was our best player and played swing effortlessly. i think he will be fine in england. a little tuneup in county wouldnt hurt. but will he sacrifice the ungodly rich contracts of IPl for t20? doubt it. do i blame him? absolutely not. money matters. players dont partake in charity. its a business.

Intrigued to see what role dew plays in the last session. Commentators were saying there was lots of dew post 7:30 in last few days.

Jesus, guys lay off from the kid. He's not even completed 3 months in test cricket. give him time.

totally agreed. stunning talent. even shaw. I think he should be recalled and played in the middle but i doubt it now given how good vihari is etc.

i  we need to start picking players according to conditions they excel in.

Filling the team with condition specific players is very risky.

We need to develop all condition batsmen.

We are so dominant at home, sometimes this gets boring. Now I know how Nadal fans feel during clay season.

Might as well make a ROTW XI and play them annually in a 4 test series, we can pay them well I suppose. Some relief from this boredom.

i love nadal. the raging bull. you are right sir. we do resemble nadal in home conditions haha.

Honestly i though the match is quite interesting despite england losing so many wickets. something about pink ball makes it interesting.

i am a big fan of pace and never really thought i would become a fan of spin but these turning tracks are actually quite fun to watch.
