Its interesting to note the speculated statistics on deaths

The economist suggest that india have lost roughly 4 times the official deaths declared to covid. Around 1 million they speculate 1.5 million deaths from covid at the end of the second wave.

This is the upper bound of estimates i have seen on deaths.

Looking at our vaccination rate

Its currently 1.8 million a day. This should dip to 1.5 million by end of may before rising to 5 million plus start of July.

This is my prediction. If it comes true then india will be well placed for a third wave. Hopefully all above 45 should have one dose atleast.

Well it’s interesting how he becomes PM for everyone including some non Indians when there is a catastrophe. But when it’s election mandate, farm bills, CAA, Triple Talaq, Article 370, then it’s #notmypm.

He is everyone's PM that's what he is. He should not have favorites and no one should encourage that. Lol its very basic. Even if someone opposes caa. Or article 370 they are still Indian.

Yea, at the same time he can’t cater to every petty victim group feeling left out. The founding principle is constitution. Individuals don’t matter.

By June 15, vaccines will be flooding the market. By Aug 15 we will achieve peak vaccination. I think after 50 cr vaccines, there will be fewer takers.

there is only so much you can do.

This is exactly what I noticed first because I know that , what is in that image is not social distancing at all. And that started at Airport Itself. NRIs really need to make a visit to India and relook shops, hospitals, markets, roads, railway stations, oublic transport before talking all BS crap about tackling Corona by social Distancing.

Its unfortunate that people in India are as clanish as you. Every people's concern in a democracy has heft and importance not petty at all.

So what? It's critical to get folks that are opposing caa as a mischief countered what abt those that are not understanding the text and being afraid? When Germans did the jew genocide, they were fundamentally afraid for their kids initially. It's important to reconcile the country's divided population.

A view from inside India’s crumbling health infrastructure

Policymakers and politicians in the capital appear to have become immune to the crisis. I got a number of requests from people outside of India. One medical university was eager to take on the workload of an entire tertiary care hospital in Delhi, but subsequent talks revealed their concerns about the “corruption” in the Indian system: They were wary of the money not going where it was most needed. No wonder, we spend just 1.29 per cent of GDP on health, even less than Bangladesh and Nepal, both of whom are not superpowers.

I am sure that will end well. Who is the sponsor? Natural selection?

Citing 'Relief Work', Sambit Patra Fails to Appear Before Raipur Police in 'Toolkit' Case

On Sunday, Patra’s lawyer responded on behalf of the BJP spokesperson that he could not make himself available for questioning by the Raipur police, even via video conference. The Raipur police had summoned him to be present at 4 pm on Sunday, either in person or through a video conference.

The fake case deserves contempt.

Japan's world class health infrastructure is crumbling with 3k+ cases... and Indians and NRIs expect everything to be tip top and say the govt was unprepared with 100x the number of cases! I wonder how many ppl are asking for the PM and the health minister to resign in Japan atm.

Your not understanding why many or unhappy  the  health structure collapsing was not failure of PM nor the lack of vaccination  both of this are very tough achieve in India. It  was lack of action and  communication the cases were going north in start april and government didn't bother address it, You need develop proper channels of commutation have press conference and altleast try some action  if your not doing get some expert to communicate. India had so many misinformation and government didn't bother do anything . they were to arrogant

India well on way to flattening thr curve. The waves that rise sharply also come off quicker. We should be through it by mid June comfortably.

Well the big test will come come couple of weeks after the lockdown is removed with most places still in lockdown I would agree with down very sharply by Mid june
