Also, as for the original question, it's not even a contest.

Indian kids are far better.

If this is the intelligence level of Pakistani kids who study at a top private school in the middle-east, I shudder to think how the average Pakistani kid is in comparision.

What is India if devoid of its various faiths? Indian culture or rather composite Indian culture is derived from its religions.

This ban would only make people more religious. If religion is as irrelevant in the modern world as you claim it is, it would die a natural death.

Most societies which tried to force shut religion have collapsed, like the Soviets. Its the societies where religion has died a natural death like the West that are still thriving.

You must visit Southern US once.

I don't share your gloomy outlook at all.

We've had our civil war in 1947 and learnt our lessons. We've picked a way. How much ever we may hate/dislike the 'other' co existence is our only option now.

True coexistence is the only option but Islamic radicalism and deception is a reality. Loonies in other religions are only too glad to feed into the fire. Religion should be forcibly abolished for securing human future.

I am afraid. Very afraid.

We thought the same about Burma too. But at some point, hatred got to that point where we saw the genocide in Myanmar.

In India, I feel that there was much more Hindu-Muslim brotherhood and mutual respect was present in 1947 as compared to today. The level of hatred today in Indian society is unprecedented.

Not all brainwashing are same. Hindus don’t brainwash their children that non-believers are to be treated worse than animals and are destined to go to hell. They are brainwashed to lead a ekPatni ideal man like Raam and not entitled to many partners. They are brainwashed to uphold their Dharma and fight who challenge the basis of Dharma.

Problem is this that followers of every religion come up with same types of claims about their religion. Christian say that Jesus sacrificed himself for the others and showed mercy upon the others. Muslims also come up with claims that Jihad means only doing "Struggle" for the good and against the bad etc.

And followers of one religion will always  find tons of faults in other religions. Hindu religion is blamed for the practice of evil caste system for thousands of years. Whatever excuses are present by modern Hindus, but followers of other religions are never going to accept it.

And Dharma is not religion. It is a code of ethics and discipline. This brainwashing doesn’t involve disrespecting other believers, and that is what parents fear. They fear that their own children will end up disrespecting them.

Again, followers of other religions are never going to accept this excuse of Ethics by modern Hindus, while Hinduism has been practiced as a religion for thousands of years, where it has it's own Rituals and Laws and sacred books and holy deities etc.

And common perception is this that Buddhism is much more ethics and discipline oriented ideology as compared to Hinduism.

India believes in freedom with responsibility and not a reckless freedom. Indian kids are given responsibilities and freedom in equal doses unlike western culture where freedom is birth right but responsibility is not.

There is no problem in telling kids the religious stories of Ram and Mahabharata, or of Jesus or Buddha etc. in order to teach them the morals and ethics. And I think that whatever it is meant with freedom vs responsibility, that could also be achieved without imposing religions upon the kids and brainwashing them that they belong to a particular religion by birth, or that they have to follow the religion of their parents etc.

Chinese Non Religious (/Atheist) society exists for thousands of years. There children also get more responsibilities as compared to the West. Therefore, the upbringing of children is not related to religion, but to the social environment and customs.

What a troll! Do you know how many Hindus  died on direct action day in 1946? Congress didn’t agree for partition. After a year of genocide, mayhem and riots and killing , they relented and gave up on the idea of one India! How many were chased out of Karachi , Lahore with their homes occupied by force? The country was divided on basis of Muslims wanting their own land. What a way of showing mutual respect and brotherhood, peeth pe  chura bhokna !

India is better off now, with only some pockets of no-go zones to handle. Much more peaceful than a 100 years ago.

We were comparing brainwashing in your words. There is a religious aspect of Dharma, but not only that. There is philosophy, darshanas, mimansa and kavya. It is not just temple visiting and worshiping. The culture or Sanskriti is very much part of it. If it banned, people will grow up devoid of any roots. While at that. If one is taught to hate other religions, calling them idolatory or pagans, calling them to rot in eternal damnation is what is more toxic than the former kind of brainwashing! Hindus accept atheism as one form of lifestyle and thinks we can do-exist. Nastikas are not beheaded or stone pelted or pushed from tall structures. So, don’t even keep harping on all religious brainwashing  being same. It is still not perfect with endogamy in castes and widow rehabilitation, but it has shown that it is at best place to reform.

Jains are even better in that. But, we consider all of them came from the grand umbrella of sanatan dharma.

There is a very strong "echo system" built in by the virtue of righteousness. Have you ever observed or studied anything like this (echo system). Have you met enough people and have spent substantive amount of time with them to know how it works (echo system). India and Hinduism is constantly evolving. It is not stagnated as you think. So getting some stupid videos out of context to generalize in passing judgement is not what a liberal should do.

Give me short answers.

The internet/twitter space is not the entire body of the Indian society!!

Its just a cross section of is most cancerous fragment. Don't make the mistake of extrapolating a few noxious twitter handles to represent the behaviour of an entire society.

I don't understand on what point you are disagreeing with me.

Off course  hate was present in 1947 too, which was the cause of partition.

But do you think this hatred has decreased as compared to 1947?

The simple answer is NO.

I lived in Pakistan. And hate has increased many folds.

And same is true for Indian society too, where Muslims and Hindus lived relatively peacefully in the earlier decades. But then rise of Muslim extremism all over the world also effected Indian Muslims. At the same time Indian Hindus also started gathering around Hindutva movement, which has taken the shape of ultra right Hindu movement.

The fears of Muslim genocide is real, just as in Myanmar.

That is why religions should be abandoned in today's world for the sake of humanity. They are cause of lot of problems. Off course Islam plays many folds more role in all this evil, and thus it should also be criticized many times more than others.

Religion should be made a private affair and abandoned in public life.

Comparison of Big Evil vs. Small Evil is not a wise thing in this matter, while in both cases Brainwashing is going to stay an evil and a bad thing for the kids.

All religions claim the same thing for themselves i.e. they have philosophy and morals and ethics and spirituality

.

Kids are fully free to adopt all these practices/Dharma if they find any attraction in them after they have become adults and have the power to decide for themselves.

Dharma has not been  banned. Kids could be told the stories of Mahabhariata and Ramain. They could be told about the morals from these stories. They could be introduced to spirituality in the religions (if there is any as all of them claim).

We are talking here on banning of only the religious part, which includes prayers and worships and telling children to follow the religion of their parents.

I don't know about Jains exactly, but surely Buddhists deny this claim of Hinduism of being a grand umbrella of sanatan dharma. This is only one sided claim by Hinduism.

This guy is the Makuka of present day. Edward Makuka Nkoloso was the founder of Zambia National Academy of Science, Space Research and Philosophy and planned to beat USA & USSR space programs in the 60s. Alam dar here does something similar, devoid of facts and reality while living with an insane superiority complex to preach how Indians/Hindus should conduct themselves.

Pakistan is the least educated and literate country in Asia after Afghanistan.

India is so so far ahead that it’s not even funny to mention the 2 in the same sentence
