For me it’s still a theory but one that is becoming increasingly difficult to disapprove. I think there is strong chance that this virus mutant was implanted. I will still be open the base case of corona being corona. But I do think now there is far too much fishy around corona. Especially the fact that nothing is happening in China or even Pakistan for that matter.

The point of the original post was simply to point out this contradiction:  According to the same conspiracy theorists, Covid was just a false disease (like a cold) during the first wave, but suddenly became a killer disease during the 2nd wave.

Understandable, but you would not feel this way if you embraced evolutionary biology.  Just try to visualize how random changes in gene sequences can generate 1000s of variants with *each round of replication*.  And see how just a handful of them have features that give them huge advantages and become VOCs.  This is normal.   It happens all the time.  Nature is a bitch.  We just didn't have the tools to see it happening in real time with all viruses that have ravaged humanity in the past.  Now we can see it.  It has always happened and is a much more likely reason than someone determining which specific gene sequence will give the best advantage to the virus, make it in the lab and plant it in a specific location.  

 

That said, there is a very strong chance that the original SARS CoV-2 came from a lab - most likely escaped due to carelessness.  That is something one could accept.

Thanks @BacktoCricaddict  Btw I do embrace evolutionary biology. As I said I am still with base case scenario. But no impact of China and Pakistan. It’s been an year. While rest of world is seeing wave after wave. I would like a good explanation for this.

Yes, there is.  First, this correlation did not happen in many countries.  Not US.  Not Israel.  In both cases, it is clear that vaccinated populations are doing much better that unvaccinated population in terms of serious Covid symptoms.  I've posted all kinds of data on this forum.  And not even UK:

 

 

Second, until there is evidence that corona spread in vaccinated populations is equal to or greater than in unvaccinated populations, there is no justification to say that vaccines are responsible for the Covid spread.   

 

But the most important message:  For at least 2 weeks after 2nd dose, please take all precautions as before because body not ready.

My reading is that the UK VOC is the driver in India.  Could it be a function of more travel between UK and India than between UK and those padosis?

Nope on the contrary our padosis will have a very high inflow from UK. Highest for them. 
 

Let’s keep them aside. What about China. It just doesn’t add up. Many Chinese I know have told me that the virus was leaked from the lab. It was common knowledge on wechat forum. In 15 days govt decided to censor it and removed all articles and content.

The original virus - yes, there is enough smoke there.  VOCs, too?

 

How about this semi-facetious possibility?  Do you think some well-funded anti-vaxxer group did it and timed it perfectly to shake people's faith in vaccines forever?  I mean, this would be a perfect way of accomplishing their goal!  But then again, if that is the case, why didn't they time it better in the US, UK and Israel, but did so in India and Seychelles?
