Unfair for sikhs who had nothing to do with this to be targetted. I also feel that the Indian state as usual was reactive in nature. Let the situation build to the point where the golden temple was filled with weapons. That situation has not changed. We are still reactive. But plenty of hindu civilians were targetted during the insurgency. This was before 1984. Unfair also to forget those killed for being a minority within that state. Many fled to Himachal Pradesh and Haryana. I do believe that many Hindus in Panthankot district want to be part of hp and not punjab in light of the farmer protests. All in all a sad mismanaged situation. Agree, any innocents that were killed as a result of this violence, irrespective of their background is a tragedy and shame on the nation for mishandling this situation. If he wants a united Indian population as its leader he must apologise from the Indian state it will set the right example. Infact he should jump at the chance. He was not involved on the admin of the country at that time. Punjab is ruled by a party that was accountable .May be they should do it or people should answer why they chose them. Modi should be accountable for his governance. He should apologize for the riots in Gujrat during his time or for being ill prepared for second wave of Corona. He is not accountable for others wrong doing . His apologizing for '84 neither makes sense ,nor does it help because the apology should come from the perpetrator of the crimes. A hurt B. How does C apologizing help A if B is not held accountable?

Nope as a leader of a nation he can surely apologise. Its shows his intent to correct past wrongs. It will be a great move for him politically. Besides kalistani movement will die when there is clarity of intent from current establishment. Such an apology will show strength not weakness.

He can do the right thing and hurt Cong at the same time. "This is the same podium that was occupied by hateful heads of government forty years when they stood here and perpetrated a terrible crime; this time your head of govt stands on the same podium to deeply apologize on behalf of another head of govt because it is the right thing to do. This great nation made a grave mistake, today she apologizes." And then round up every Cong soul who led the atrocities and lock them up for good. Vilander 1

I get that it is a sacred symbol, but don't make it sound like cows were created to foster the welfare of mankind and given magical powers to take care of humans. To be real, it is just a ruminant mammal that was domesticated from wild aurochs and will disappear into the annals of evolution if humans stopped breeding it for human purposes. Neither the cow nor its excrements have special powers. As for people peeing on their plants, all they are doing is giving it urea. Nothing wrong with it, but nothing special either. Coffee and ignormaus esque will take serious offense on your truth bombs there.. You are hurting their feelings on morarji Desai etc.. Be more sensitive man.
