The poster says, “Live with pride, die for the religion.” He paid tribute to the terrorists on the 37th anniversary of Operation Blue Star. It features Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale at the center wearing a blue turban.

Posters of Bhindranwale as well as Khalistan flags were seen during an event inside Sri Harmandir Sahib in Amritsar earlier today. Pro-Khalistan group Dal Khalsa also carried out a march to the shrine to mark 6th June as ‘Khalistan Day’.

Remember when Harbhajan and Yuvraj appealed to raise money for Afridi's foundation when the latter was giving public hate speeches against Indian Army.

Bcoz majority of Punjab Sikhs feel that Sikhs were betrayed by Indian politicians like Nehru.... post 1947. All this goes back during the partition. Sikhs have given maximum lives for India before & after freedom while RSS leader like Savarkar was begging for mercy from the Brits for his release.

1984 Genocide of Sikhs in India is a permanent divide....live with it.

They're not doing themselves any favours by parading photos of Bhindranwale and Khalistan.

India objected to Khalistani/Bhindranwale posters at Kartarpur. Yet the same types of posters are within the Golden Temple?

Hypocrisy much?

Agree with everything except the part where Sikhs gave maximum lives for India..  Now that's a clear  assumption..  Yes they did give up their lives but so did others.  British Indian Army has not only Sikhs but other regiments as well who fought in World Wars.  Savarkar doesn't represent every Indian too.

Bhindrawale will forever be a terrorist for his deeds & nothing can change that.

Where do people get this idea that only sikh soldiers have given max lives and  they are the only saviours of the nation?

They are  one of the many groups of soldiers of different regions that have made the glorious sacrifice.

They are the Tilak rakshaks from evil Moghuls.  If not for them, Brits would not have won may wars in Afghanistan, SE Asia and AFter Independence, it is solely responsible for keeping India safe. That narrative is there in Mainstream India and popularized by B;wood as well.

I don't believe bhajji was so drunk to not recognize the poster for what it was.I feel he had after thoughts.

Saw the backlash and retracted , definitely. He did that for Afridi Foundation message as well. Laaton ka asar.

Re khalistan

I do think that justice needs to be done for the 1984 riots. Unfair for sikhs who had nothing to do with this to be targetted. I also feel that the Indian state as usual was reactive in nature. Let the situation build to the point where the golden temple was filled with weapons. That situation has not changed. We are still reactive.

But plenty of hindu civilians were targetted during the insurgency.  This was before 1984. Unfair also to forget those killed for being a minority within that state. Many fled to Himachal Pradesh and Haryana. I do believe that many Hindus in Panthankot district want to be part of hp and not punjab in light of the farmer protests.

All in all a sad mismanaged situation.
