What role do you believe you can play in the Indian team?
I believe there is a middle-order slot right now, at Nos. 5, 6, 7. And I can slot into any of the three. For the top four slots, there are way too many players who have done phenomenally well and who keep batting in [IPL] franchises at that position. My specialty is that I can bat at five, six, seven and help India in setting up the best score possible or in winning games, which I did in the short while before the 2019 World Cup in the T20 format. The fact that I have played 150 games for my country is the experience I will look back on every time I play.

who ever took this interview, superb job. On point question, no boot licking....asked him about issues and DK was very honest to. 

The portion on leg spin was very good

Admittedly, my memory is bad, but to me it seems that his entire finisher reputation in international cricket is based on one 22(9) innings against BD.  I think he'd make a good coach, though.  Seems to be a good guy who would mentor youngsters well.

He was one of most talented WKs India produced but he was also one of most timid players who crack under pressure so easily.He like Rahul in tests got more than enough chances to prove their worth.

It was not a one off, he had multiple 20s and 30s coming in the 14th-15th overs. What he lacked was another eye catching innings like the BD one. I remember one match vs Aus in Aus which we lost by 4-5 runs, DK got out with 2 balls to go having got us close to an almost impossible win. Same in NZ, we were chasing 210+, he hit 35-40 runs at a SR of 200+, but we fell short by 3-4 runs. I wonder how his T20I career would have shaped up if we had gone onto win those matches.

 

The WC SF loss finally put paid to any remote possibility he had.
