Let’s pray for a series loss

We have been losing badly for years in Eng anyway..  So we should not hope for another defeat.  Kohli Shastri combo ain't going anywhere until WT20 so let's just face the fact that we have to wait for WT20 chokes to see the back of any of them.

Chutiya Naresh ll never drop his friend Ishant. Though he took some wkts but he is not an impact bowler or can't change the momentum like Shami did. If Siraj has to come it should be in place of Ishant send Bumrah to get proper honeymoon bring thakur in place of him. That way both batting and bowling get strengthen.

Last series was supposed to be the weakest Eng team, this time it is weaker.

We went back to Rohit, who is scoring sweet 30s, so is Gill.

Kohli targetting Pujara and himself out of form

Rahane brainfades

Pant hoicks in most inopportune moments,

Jadeja/Ashwin syndrome

Siraj/Ishant conundrum

Bumrah out of form

Shami bowling down the leg twice every over

India will come to play only after two tests, usual story.

They should know how to draw tests like they did in Sydney. Otherwise expectthe same result as last 3 series

But, having said all these, I will never wish they lose the series in any way. Go India :isalute:

The insignificant WTC final was a good warm-up match.  We now know exactly what the weaknesses are and will have them all worked out before the all-important series!!

WC 2023,till then ,no chance

BCCI won't make any change in leadership

Part-sarcasm.  But, often, India has started slowly - used the first test as practice and then come back.  The insignificant WTC final was our practice match ... maybe?

Only recent Australia series can be used as an example for your logic & we all know how Rahane & youngsters took charge here..  All other times India went on to lose series.

That's mostly true under Ganguly & MS (till 2011) when the now cursed oldies had the ability to comeback. Have you seen Brat pull anything even remotely close, apart from that one series in SL 6+ yrs back? India doesn't count because we can beat most teams 6-0 with our fourth 11 here! This team under Kohli doesn't have the ability to come back - that's the bottom line :hitler:

a drubbing by England will hurt far more than an inaugural WTC final. if we can pull off say a 4-1 or 3-1 series win most observers will rate India the best side in the world. i am grateful for this practice match.

You missed the first two sentences are key to figure out how we fare

4-0, 3-1, 4-1 since 2011

Last series was supposed to be the weakest Eng team, this time it is weaker.

The best scene for India is a short series of 3 tests , like in 1986 (2-0) or 1990 (0-1). A 5-testseries exposes the chinks, we will always get drubbed 3-1 or 4-1

Recency bias from Aus series for me!

You dont have to pray for that actually. India has done miserably in England for a long time. Starting with the infamous 0-4 series loss in 2011, series against England has mostly been one sided affairs.

England and NZ are two places where India would invariably fare poorly.

I am praying for a humiliating defeat . A 3-2 defeat will buy kohli more time with shastri .
a 5-0 drubbing will stir up right talk

It'll be pretty similar to the previous england tour ,batting has worsened and it'll show .

The defeats will be tough to digest and maybe too close but the end result is crystal clear I.e a 3-1 or 4-1 type drubbing
