No one has asked them to convert to any religion or even speak in Gujarati. They follow the Hindu traditions (pray at the temples for e.g.), speak in Gujarati and Hindi, and also go to Gurudwara (and everyone in the family goes with them to Gurudwaras too) Dharmic religions don't have this issue can you imagine a Hindu or sikh Buddhist or jain have issues with each others placs of worship. It's just a sub section of Muslims who seam to have a problem a more prominent subsection that other religions.

Have never heard about cases of 60 yo Hindu/Sikh/Jain/Buddhist/Christian/Parsi men abducting Muslim teenagers at gunpoint, converting them, marrying them against wishes of the girl's parents. Always the converse happens and so regularly. Enough is enough. Never tolerate medieval barbarism in 21st century. Yes either the police are scared about looking racist or maybe these same gangs are providing girls to people in higher society and are therefore protected. Its sickening. Educate your sisters and daughters on this menace.

bharathh Posted July 1, 2021 Posted July 1, 2021 All the Hindu - Sikh marriages I have seen among friends and family have been very stable. Perhaps because both tend to be Dharmic in nature. The live and let live philosophy tends to be stronger here. Rituals and expectations of the other to conform to those rituals do tend to cause friction though.

Rates make no sense but there is cash reward every time someone converts and marries a kafir girl, life changing amount for the poorer folks. Many conversion centres for this, almost all the ISIS brides from Kerala are from Christian/Hindu families who converted in the presence of PFI linked people. Hindutva groups started talking about it only later, under Yeddy's govt in late 2000s, early 2010s. Now Syro-Malabar Church in Kerala is vocal about it. Also Ladakh Buddhist Association, again Kashmiri men in the thick of action. Everyone is free to convert in India, but what is worrisome is the grooming of minors who are then married off to much older Muslim men or sent packing to the ME, permanently cutting contacts with their families. What is worse is those men are (mostly) already married twice or thrice relegating these new brides to status of maids. Violence against the girls' families by Islamic fundamentalists too is a real issue.
