deepdynamo Posted July 7, 2021 Posted July 7, 2021 (edited) The main players are over to England which is a good thing because we get to see new players in this useless series. Dhawan in ODI is indispensable but knowing he will hog one spot in T20 is a bummer. SKY is locked in for both ODI & T20. There is only one place between Ishan & Samson in ODI. but both can slot in T20 though. Manish Pandey will get a go in ODI for sure but not sure about T20. Pandya brother will hog both all rounder spots. We may see Kulcha in ODIs but varun C & Rahul Chahar will have a look in T20. Bhuvi , Deepak Chahar and Saini will lead the fast bowling duties. There is no point giving chances to Paddikal, Ruturaj, Rana, Gowtam and Sakaria if they are not in plan for T20 WC, My XI for ODI: Dhawan Shaw Sky Pandey Kishan Hardik Krunal Bhuvi Saini Yuzi Kuldeep My XI for T20: Dhawan Shaw Sky Samson Kishan Hardik Krunal Rahul Chahar Deepak Chahar Bhuvi Varun C Edited July 7, 2021 by Austin 3:!6
maniac Posted July 7, 2021 Posted July 7, 2021 Most pointless series. Bashing this team will not do anyone any favors and losing to them will be a humiliation for the ages. Only thing that may standout is if someone scores a fastest 100, 200, take a Hattrick or take a 6 or 7 wicket haul. Even regular 150+ score or a 4-5 wicket haul won’t do much for the players.

SK_IH Posted July 7, 2021 Posted July 7, 2021 It's a disgrace that Shikhar is not only playing but also leading the side. TM & selectors both are useless & have no idea how to say goodbye to players. Shikhar will open for India in the upcoming T20 WC & it is a vicious circle. saik and raki05 2

Sandeep99 Posted July 8, 2021 Posted July 8, 2021 It is absolutely demoralizing how Dhawan is back in the T20 side and the most favorite to open alongside Rohit in the T20 WC when you consider he was 'dropped' during the England series a couple of monhs back and his replacement Ishan Kishan belted away the best limited overs side in the world to win the game. deepdynamo Posted July 8, 2021 Author Posted July 8, 2021 Well to be honest if there is one format where we don't need many specialists, its the T20. It the format to play unorthodox players and build the team that way. An ideal team should have 5 batsman (including WK), 4 All rounders and 2 pure bowlers. A guy like Samad should be in scheme of things. If he can hit Rabada, Norje, Bumrah, Boult and Fergusan for massive sixes, he is the power hitter you are looking for. He can bowl you two oves in match too. SKY is a superstar in T20. On current form, he can accelerate from Ball 1, a talent, which even Rohit and Kohli doesn't posseses. Don't Steorytype Hardik Pandya in finisher role. He can win you matches playing at No. 4/5. K Gowtham- can give you 2-3 overs and we have seen he strikes cleanly in IPL. V. Chakrvarty- everybody is going gaga over him because he is a mystery spinner. But can you trust Kohli to select him instead of useless Yuzi. Krunal is way better than Yuzi/Kuldeep in T20. --------------------- The truth is that our T20 team & TM needs a total makeover. We have the resources to be absolute unbeatable in this format for atleast 3 years based on the current talent we have but the key is to think beyond test and ODI superstars. The current TM is just making the same mistake of having a template for even T20. The main culprit is the trio of Dhawan, Rohit. Kohli and to certain extent Rahul ( corrupted by current TM). They are not allowing flexibility and flamboyance to flourish.
Sandeep99 Posted July 8, 2021 Posted July 8, 2021 I have no doubt whatsoever that we'll field a top order of Dhawan-Rohit-Clown-Rahul-Pandey in the 2023 WC. Good to score 270-300/3-4 against substandard teams and will be caught with pants down when playing against the likes of England/Australia/New Zealand in knockout matches. saik 1

Yes, we can already visualize what will be the ODI top 7 in 2023 and the travesty is that Kohli won't allow anybody else to sneak in. Only Dhawan is vulnerable with sudden loss of form. KL always scores in IPL so they ll have to adjust him somewhere....he ll be send in middle. Boom we ll have same ODI battinglineup
