Golf enthusiasts, few small doubts.   How many types of golf clubs are there? One for long distance, one for short putting? Do they carry their own golf balls or does the event organizer provide them with designated tournament balls?   Do they play the same 18 holes on all 4 days here, or its it 18x4=72 different holes?   Are PGA/LPGA golf courses much larger than this Olympics course, hence with higher par for every shot? That could explain why Aditi with her stron

If Sindhu can beat her nemesis in the SF and Chen Yufei in the final, she makes a strong case for being the best player of her generation. 

 

This despite her lack of talent (relatively speaking and yardstick is Tai Tzu), lack of fitness (compared to Okuhara, Yamaguchi), lack of overall success/H2H bragging rights (Marin), lack of consistency (quite a few).

 

What she has in plenty is fighting spirit, clutchness and ability to distinguish between useless events and important ones....last bit Kohli will never understand.

to me best in business is Tai Tzu, Marin, Okuhara, Sindhu, Intanon then Yamaguchi.. btw Marin n Sindhu are very close friends..

Bro, if she loses the next game then all of us here will do her character assassination with stuff like how Indians lack genetic ability to have nerves of steel, this and that. Let's not expect too much for now.

Djokovic got destroyed by Zverev. This is what happens to Djokovic when opponents don't choke or bring their best level. Djokovic has been lucky this year, with opponents either choking or not good enough. Truly a weak era to pad stats. 

 

Djokovic himself choked this match, a set and a break up, and decides to lose 8 games in a row. 

 

Federer and Nadal don't lose 8 games in a row to anybody, especially when being a set and a break up.

Yes but its subscription only- what has the world come to that even something like Olympics has become pay per view- it should be mandated that all countries should provide a free live stream to this event

But difficult to say, Sindhu doesn't give a **** about some of these tournaments where she meets these top players regularly. Like literally, no *s given, she uses them to work on parts of her game or try out some new shots/tactics. 

 

Intanon is a top player but Tai Tzu is a different beast altogether. Sindhu at her best can beat all others left in the draw, but if Tai Tzu is at her best no version of Sindhu can stop her, because of her net game, deception, unpredictability Sindhu gets no rhythm against her. 

 

She hired this new Korean coach and worked a lot to counter Tai Tzu, aspects of her game have improved, like touch, defence and net game. Anyway can't predict the future, just hope everything turns out good for Sindhu. 

 

Intanon too is a beast and Sindhu isn't playing at her pre-COVID level...you had to see her in 2019 World Championship in Basel (her last tourney under previous South Korean coach), beat Tai Tzu, Chen Yufei on her way to final where she beat Okuhara something like 21-7, 21-6. Was so dominant in that tournament and some of her set victory margins were comical, against the best of the best. This version of Sindhu is a pale shadow of that Sindhu, I don't think she is playing that well, nothing guaranteed. Maybe I am wrong.

Yeah. Actually to think Of it Marin n Sindhu are anomalies in field or Chen Yufei, Binjao, Tzu, Okuhara,Intanon.. japan china south east asia.. who produce badminton players at the rate we produce ranji trundlers..
