Shankar and shardul are both needed. That's That's you need to watch A games before you run your mouth.  Shankar has good technique for test crickrt and has done well in A tours in England an n.z. 

 

He can also swing the ball.

to add most dont understand the diff between batting n bowling all rounder, infact format difference understanding bhi masha allah hi hai. 

shankar is being mostly judged here on white ball cricket

Most of the guys here judge Shankar based on his traumatic IPL performances. He is a very decent allrounder for Tamil Nadu and deserves a run in the longer form of the game. We need a guy who bats at 6 and bowls pace. There's practically a drought for such players!

I was talking about his batting.  He does not make it to the test team as a batsman for SENA conditions.   One match winning spell with the ball (out of 5 test matches) is  irrelevant.  Rahane and kohli also batted nicely in that lone test which contributed to our win.  Overall, he was our worst bowler on that tour (if u take out the 3rd test).

My only wish I hope this turns out to be last test tour of Pujara, Rahane & Ishant. Especially Ishant, the epitome of mediocrity, on his 5th tour of England & still can't be relied upon to be the top performer.
