Young replacements: Seamer at no. 8 that can bat

We have a few options like Shardul, Bhuvi (if fit) and possibly Deepak Chahar. Unfortunately, all of them are pushing 30. Are there any young seamers (25 years or less) who can potentially average 25-30 with the bat in test cricket.

Shivam Mavi comes to mind - please do highlight any potential players to keep a watch on. If India will play pace quartets in SENA  in future, I guess this position becomes very important.

Why can't we downgrade Hardik panya to bowler only and get him more bowling responsibility then batting.

His batting could be only survive in test as long as he can.

Pandya is a batsman who can bowl. Can't be played as a specialist bowler

1-Divyaansh Joshi ( was in the squad of under 19 World Cup 2020 but had to withdraw due to injury)

Divyansh is again a proper pacer. Moves the ball at sharp pace and has good enough yorkers and bouncers.

Plus he is a hitter too.

He is just 19 and can be ideal for this role too.

Just watched the videos of Divyaansh and Darshan... boy that's some fiery bowling. Of course, need to test them out in bigger matches but the action, run up and basics are there. We need to groom these guys and not let them slip away. Can they already be graduated to Ranji level and played at least in plate division?

He can't bowl 5 overs at a stretch without getting injured/niggled.   Has poor fitness level which can't be improved in a short span.  Things are not getting any easier either as he is approaching the age of 30.

As of now Shardul is our best option, harshal patel is another one but his bowling is not good enough to get him selected in top 4 bowlers of the country

Deepak chahar- keep him for t20 or think about him in test only in england conditions

Bhuvi - another option

He has no fitness issues. Neither fast bowling injuries are just about fitness.  Fast bowler's injuries are stress and load injuries. Not related to fitness. Fittest of the bowlers get injured and He is one of the fittest and most athletic cricketer in India. He had back stress fracture which has nothing to do with fitness.

He is fit bro. He is just weak. He is too brittle.

Many fit guys i know from cross fitting and these other bullshit fitness regimes who are completely useless at lifting heavy weights.

Yea it builds endurance but you need to balance power with endurance and strength. Pandya lacks strength.

He doesn't lack strength. He has plenty power in his batting. Back stress fracture is a common occurrence among fast bowlers.

You realise how many years Cummins have been out due to stress fractures? Even Bumrah too but those guys are specialist bowlers While bowling is Pandya's second suit.  Those guys are used to injuries and have no fear. They have seen serious injuries multiple times. Pandya had his first serious injury.

Even still I have never seen pandu bowl with intensity for more than 10 overs let alone 20.
