Best places to visit Mumbai

Tomorrow  I am travelling to Mumbai. I have three days as solo traveler. Please guide me best place to vist and best place to eat especially non veg.

At the moment all restaurants shut at 4pm for dine in. After that it's take away only.

 

Most tourist attractions are also shut or open only for a few hours.

 

What area are you put up?

I have been to Mumbai twice...so would recommend following places:

 

Bandstand beach

Bandra Sea link

Nariman Point & Gateway of India

Chowpatti

 

For eating place just google best joints. Food is the last thing to worry in Mumbai anyway.

Beyond a certain time, people are not let onto Chowpatty or walk along/sit at the Marine drive. Cops even ask you to drive away, if you are seated in your car by Marine Drive if it's late. I suspect it would be similar at Bandstand.

I'm at a loss. There isn't much you can do at the moment.

 

Also I'm afraid there is nothing in the general vicinity of Asalfa.

 

Try out Mahesh Lunch Home/ Trishna if you are a fan of sea food. Or want to try Mumbai specific sea food.

If you're travelling with your wife and/or want to try fancy fusion food, I would recommend The Bombay Canteen.

 

Visit Chor Bazaar, could be interesting.

Do a guided walking tour of Colaba/Nariman Point.

 

Is there something in specific that you want to do/eat/shop?

Persian Darbar (Byculla): Try the Kepsa rice or Raan Biriyani here. Not that great a place to dine in, but really good food. Also Muharram has started today (rather yesterday, ie on the 10th) and till Ashura (19th) Persian Darbar would be swamped. Better reserve a table.

If you are in the mood to indulge, try Jyran. New place and really great food. They've a khansama whose ancestors were cooks to the East India Company. Or something of the sort.

App based cabs. Hire a vehicle for the entire day, would make it easier for you.

 

Autos don't travel beyond a point in Mumbai. So if you want to head towards South/ Central Bombay you have to ditch the auto and take a taxi. 

Unless you are an essential worker, you won't be let into the local trains. Also would not recommend that. Unnecessary exposure.

How are you able to travel to Mumbai? 

 

I want to travel to Mumbai but can't. I can't even go interstate because of these snap lockdowns

 

In Mumbai, I recommend:

1. Muchhad Paanwala 
2. Ayyub's
3. Samrat. 

The Thaali's at Samrat taste like ice cream. But their tikkas are out of this world.

 

Bade Miya has gone down the drain. Recommend Ayyub's any day.

 

Give Delhi Durbar a miss, their Biryani is overrated. Overrated with a capital O. I love my Biryani but man, was this a let down.

Mumbai is the worst place to travel around. Will never step foot in that city ever again in my life. 
Chandigarh is the best place with lot of things to do and fresh air to breathe
