Hope we smash them in the T20 WC (in group stage as well as final) and home series. Sick and tired of KW, Taylor, Jamieson, Boult, Southee.

They have a guy like Jamieson, X factor player with bat,ball and field.

 

on the other hand we have 3 world class spinners like Ashwin,Jadeja,Axar (x factor bat too) which Nzl lack.

 

batting well Ross is marginally better than Pujara/Rahane and Kohli and Williamson are on par more or less.

 

Fast Bowling we have a more all condition bowling line up than Nzl so I will put them ahead.

 

Overall India ahead for me

 

Batting I would say we are on par.

 

Bowling India is heads and shoulders ahead.

 

Fielding Nzl is ahead.

 

Allround and multi dimensional cricketers Nzl

 

specialist cricketers India

 

Over all if india was a 8 on a scale of 10, I would put Nzl on 7.

In the last 3 tests they have given us a proper thrashing. Got thrashed at a neutral venue in the WTC final. Should not even be a debate which team is better in recent years.

 

We play them again later this year, this time at home. Good opportunity to even up.

NZ is the only team that could beat Pakistan in UAE which is something even 2012 England team could not do even after beating India in India. Also, except Rohit and Pant, there are no great players of spin in Indian team as well. India NZ series in Nov will be very close - especially as it is just 2 matches, if India prepare spinning tracks and NZ bat first in the first test, it can easily become a drawn series. Kane is a very good player of spin along with Tom Latham and to some extent Rossco & Nicolls as well. We can choose to under estimate them at our own peril.

For 5 decades. We have won just 1 test there since 1970. Much better record in RSA, Aus, Eng despite them fielding far stronger sides for most of their history. 

But this NZ team at home is too strong, and they don't have mental block against us (OTOH they lose their cojones against Aussies). Doubt our all time XI can beat this NZ in NZ.

It was as neutral a venue as UAE or SL for NZ, not to mention they had 2 full test match worth of practice! I know not their fault but it was clearly not neutral the day NZ qualified for the finals!

Nzl basically trashed us in Nzl conditions and Nzl like  conditions.

 

They wouldn’t last 3 days against our spinners  had the WTC held in UAE or Bangladesh as neutral venue. They were prodding and poking against Ashwin in overcast English conditions.

 

we are overrating them. The difference is we are punching way below are weight and Nzl while always punches above their weight, this time have very good team, best in their history so they maximize their potential. That’s the difference.

The fact that they don't have a single spinner even comparable to Ashwin-Jadeja, should automatically put us ahead. 

 

And don't look too much into WTC finals. It was just one off. They had favorable conditions, had 2 'practice' matches against Eng and also won the toss.
