Both those Australian teams played majority matches in Australia and South Africa during their streaks 

 

A loss less streak is probably more achievable sometime in future. (Should have been achieved by now if not for that awful pitch in pune)

I am expecting us to botch at least 1 test in South Africa & this England series as well.  So no chance. 

 

Need a humongous home season like the one in 2016 & a Sri lanka tour to have a ideal shot at it.

Definitely. I expect us to lose 1 game vs england. I think we will win 2. 

 

Vs south africa, at best I see us winning 2-1. It's going to be a lottery pitch with the team batting first having a huge advantage.

Agree. I don't know why many of us are being so cocky regarding our chances in South Africa later this year. They have a deadly bowling attack which can easily bowl us out for < 200 regularly on typical SAF wickets and their batting IMO is stronger than the current England side. 

 

A lineup of Elgar, Markram, Van der Dussen, QDK, Bavuma is comfortably better than Burns, Sibley, Hameed, Root, Butler. They will most likely have that Verreyne guy too, who is at least a level above the English dross like Crawley, Pope etc... 

 

Don't think it'll be easy.

Agreed. My wife is a saffer. Lol. Their family all watch the cricket. Going to be a battle at home.  Honestly their batting is better better ours too. 

 

We have literally 3 batsmen. We have a world class bowling attack and 2 ATG level spinners. We have 3 very weak passengers. 

 

Pant Rahul and rohit. That's it. Maybe jaddu can pass as batsman. 

 

Just imagine our current attack with fab 4 lol.

Just hope we bid farewell to Pujara, Rahane and Ishant by the time we land in South Africa. We must try at least three of Gill, Mayank, SKY ,Shaw in the MO against NZ at home.

Have you seen Nortje bowl in the last few months? He's a genuine threat and just the kind of bowler to hurt India. Ngidi too has troubled us in the past. Collectively (along with Maharaj), this attack would be more threatening than whatever we're facing right now in England.

I think same English side did beat them 3-1..  Though they had Archer Stokes as well.  Ollie Pope did well there I remember.  And England historically have done well there. 

 

I think it will be a tight series as Saffers got their mojo back in West Indies especially Rabada came back in form. 

But if we get at least one practice game & pick a decent playing XI we can beat them.
