Our players are just complacent here after Lords. Hardly any bowler touching 140kphs

There was some swing but that's expected with new ball. But not as much as we saw in first 2 tests. Its generally a pretty flat wicket.

 

I agree about the complacency. They got too carried away with Lord's win and wanted to dominate England from the start. Should have seen off the new ball especially against Anderson and then would have made runs all day.

 

Respecting the opposition and conditions is key in England or overseas conditions.

Basically Rahul failed. He was the difference between the sides in the first 2 tests and suddenly Indian batting was exposed after he got out in the first over. Terrible middle order. Either no intent or mindless aggression chasing balls on 6th stump..

In England you have to watchout at the beginning of the innings,it was doing just enough for Anderson to come to party infact he will always be the one who will lick out life from entire lineup anywhere in England,

A complacent Rahul downplayed the Anderson threat,Kohli is a glorified tailender along with vaccums named Rahane,Pujara

Pant needs to come down in such situations have Jadeja at 6,this side has a tendency to go to into a shell when 1-2 wickets fall early and they dont have skills to come out of it

If not kohli with kaptanni immunity atleast need of the hour is drop Rahane,Pujara and think about future

Our openers carried the pathetic middle order in first two matches. They played out the first two spells of Anderson in first innings of both matches. As soon as one of them fell, remaining batting reenacted the Adelaide 2020. 

 

To be honest I'm more disappointed with the bowlers by EOD. We already know how pathetic our batting was so I expected atleast one sub 100 collapse in this series. 

 

Also when the F will Rohit stop pulling aerially in test matches. He literally threw away his wicket 3/4 times in this series

That's because of lack of grass. It did a lot only till it was fresh. Grass would have helped bowlers for the whole match.

Replace 'flat' with 'fair' pitches and add *under Clown's leadership

 

We did well on wickets flatter than this one in Australia once clown left. 

 

In fact, every single issue plaguing this team can be attributed to clown and his clownish leadership. Only PR matters to him now.

Some movement in first session is always expected.Was the same at Lords.Nothing alarming.

 

Last time we played at Headingley,conditions were tougher and we scored 628/8. You have to expect movement and be able to counter it.

This is NOT the pitch to bat first. Since 2017 side batting second has won 100% here, first innings teams have collapsed and last innings teams have easily chased over 300, including teams like west indies chasing 330+ easily with 5 wickets down

Very less sample size.That stokes chase was filled with chances.

 

Chasing is always tough even if its 240-250

 

If here we had scored 270 odd we would be in good position
