Bump.

Has he redeemed himself somewhat by today's innings.

A 40 odd after a string of failures, in a very low pressure innings for the team, can't be called redeeming himself.

Moreover, consistency is the key and I don't think a single innings can redeem.any player unless it is in a WTC Final or something.

Regarding this innings, he looked extremely uncomfortable against the short ball even against pacers bowling at 128 kph.

Bad signs for the SA tour.

If someone is not watching the match live and simply checking scores on cricinfo, he may start thinking that Duckula has redeemed himself with a score of 47.  Anyone watching it live would know the reality.      :winky: Oh wait........... Even Cricinfo says he was Out LBW Plumb on 20, but for NZ's brainfade.

Psst we don't mention the "one who shall not be named" brings bad luck

2018 win. That was peak. Dominance vs prime Cummins starc and haElwood Lyon.

Dravids peak nearly brought his test average to 60, runs in England, aus 03-04, runs in Pakistan and WI. It's only after 2007 his test numbers had worsened thou those 3 centuries in eng 2011 really elevated his status but imo I actually feel dravid is quite overrated.

That was mostly because they got tired and their batsman didn't post enough runs.

Dravid in England 2011 >> Pujara in Australia 2018.

That is utter nonsense. Dravid 2011 was all about Dravid and it did not have any bearing on the result.

Pujara 2018 was all about team , he ground the relentless attack to dust allowing others to prosper also.

Pujara 2018 is one of the finest exhibition of defensive batting against top class fast bowling.

People are bumping thread for a 33 year old veteran as if he scored 250. Kya din aa gaye gai bhai, we had batsmen scoring daddy hundred in the past with no phuss. Even Mayank scored 150 yday with no hype and here people are celebrating and bumping 47 in no pressure contest against a tired attack.

Dravid 2011 was in extremely swing friendly conditions while Pujara 2018 was on flat wickets.

Dravid 2011 was one of the greatest performance by an Asian batsman outside Asia.

Now he will board SA flight and get two tests to play, expect Rahane to join him too, stating the importance of experience and overseas record of Rahane in South Africa.

the trinity will continue to play for several more years.

Who said it was swing friendly ? Look at the scores again . 2011 was nothing special in any aspect it made no difference .His 2002 performance was far better.

why are we still banging on about 2018? that was undoubtedly an amazing performance, but it's 3 years ago. one should look at Chepu today, where his technique against both pace and spin has deteriorated considerably, to a large extent due to his failing physical health (e.g., knees)
