sarcastic
I think so to an extent. But more importantly, he needs to fo this every other test match and not once in a while. Link to comment
diehardpacer
Needs to bat for 500 balls. That means the entire 4th day & 1st session of 5th day. I would rather drop Rahane & Kohli over him. nevada 1 Link to comment
Vk1
even if we miraculously save this test.. its still a pathetic result for us from a future perspective Link to comment

ShoonyaSifar
He's the made of the opportunity, looked in sublime touch. A very good knock under immense pressure. When he bats like this, the entire batting unit steps up. Now for him to bat on and on tomorrow. Norman and sorak 1 1 Link to comment
Swag
He is more reliable than Rahane & Kohli in my opinion. If he bats out the 1st hour tomorrow we have a chance to avoid a loss this match. Link to comment
figo6762
Well the likes of Pujara , Rahane & Lohli have screwed with us for long time... ... Its time for next generation to take over... Kohil saw the way Dhoni pushed out the big 4... we need Pant to step up and push these idiots out... nevada 1 Link to comment
rtmohanlal
let his knock be instrumental in putting the team in a challenging position like at least 175 to defend in the 4rth inns first Link to comment
rageaddict
No not unless he scores a double ton in the 2nd innings. If he gets dismissed early tomorrow and India still loses by an innings then the runs Pujara scored were only good for his personal cause and had no impact on the fortunes of the team A batsman must score runs when the match is balanced, that is mainly in the first innings. What's the point of collapsing for nothing in the first innings and scoring runs only when the defeat is inevitable. Edited August 27, 2021 by rageaddict nevada and express bowling 2 Link to comment
speedheat
I hope not. This score serves no purpose other than to secure his position. A good outing here meant we are stuck with this bozo till the end of the time. express bowling and LordPrabhzy 2 Link to comment
rollingstoned
i don't understand why he doesn't play like this more often if he is capable of it. I know he put away a lot of leg side pies but he was missing out on those too recently while also getting out to spin which you never expect from him. Good knock though and i hope he scores a big one tomorrow. express bowling 1 Link to comment
adi B
Yes in a way. I still have more trust in Pujara than a mayank or vihari if he continues to play strokes like today and not just defend/tuktuk. He has the ability to score big once settled in and has scored with the tail as well like in Adelaide and Southampton. But if he bats like a stroke less wonder like recently ,then out you go mate! zen
I have maintained that Pujara is the most impactful Indian test batsman since 1990. Good to see him help Ind win the 2nd test and standing tall in this one despite not being in best of form. What a player! PS Count Pujara Edited August 27, 2021 by zen nevada, Jimmy Cliff, speedheat and 1 other 3 1 Link to comment
ShoonyaSifar
Not the day to mock him. He's done what he's expected to do in the 2nd innings. Playing really well. Hopefully can go on to convert this in a big score Link to comment

Ankit_sharma03
lets just say he has bought himself more time now atleast the series As far as the big question well he has to score a lot of runs coz he is a player of 0 extra value...absolute 0 Lord, Cricspin and rtmohanlal 1 2 Link to comment

Texan
The kind of innings is intended to save one's own place in the team. Knock is meaningless if we lose this Test, which will most likely be the outcome. Link to comment
Samcric
He is batting for his spot until he reaches 100. From then to 200 and beyond, he will bat for the team. If he scores 200 and takes India to 550-600, yes he will redeem himself to an extent. But we must remember this is one of the easier pitch and conditions to bat on. We must not forget that he will remain a walking wicket for Anderson in swinging conditions. If he scores enough to help India draw or win the match, he will obviously play this series and against NZ at home but we need to find someone for South Africa series. rtmohanlal, raki05, Texan and 1 other 4 Link to comment
