OP probably thinks pujara is a South indian.  Hence the name "Chetheshwar".  :p:.  Extra alphabet 'H' auto inserted.  LOL.

Is Guha fond of getting some extra H's into names? I don't know much about her.

Good stuff. Unlucky with the ankle roll. He is out for the next game. Dude is a warrior though. Respect for playing with a nasty injury.

Anyway he needs a rest anyway.

Maybe we should use oldies for 2 games or 3 per series. Young ins should get a couple of games.

Batsmen need rest too, you know. They field run and run between wickets.

Rahane doesn't need rest. He fields in slips, he doesn't really bat for very long and therefore doesn't run between wkts all that much. Therefore, he can play all tests in a series. and he can do so until he is 40. looking forward to another Decade of the Midget.

Redemption happens when india wins not when he makes pointless scores …

Pujara already helped India win 2nd test. Whenever he scores India more or less wins, as seen in last two Aus tour as well. Can't say the same about Kohli though, as have rarely seen India win in SENA when Kohli scores.

In fact, I mostly seem to remember the converse. When Rat scored a ton of runs in 2018 in Eng, we lost in most of the tests. ditto for his twin tons at adelaide. and even perth in 2018 when we lost. Kohli may very well be the best player in losses.

I'm sure that people will say that one batsman cannot make a team win. while that is obviously true (with exceptions like lara's 153*), I find it rather odd that most of Kohli's big knocks came in defeats and not in wins or heroic draws.

Not sure of redemption but nice to see him play positively. He has range of shots in the square of the wicket. He should play those drives & shots instead of straight bat blocking all the time.

This is all by we wanted from him.

Yes played like prime puji. This puji is elite. Not the one we saw in test 3 first or first test.

However he is done now. Will be out of the series. Ankle roll looked nasty. Bad luck for puji. He was doing so well. Even the wicket happened because he was compromised.

In terms of peak level I out pujara above dravid. Yes dravid. But dravid overall is a better player. Why? Consistency. His prime years lasted longer.

2018 win. That was peak. Dominance vs prime Cummins starc and haElwood Lyon.

That was mostly because they got tired and their batsman didn't post enough runs.

Dravid in England 2011 >> Pujara in Australia 2018.
