WI bowling attack is minnowesque

How the f are people calling them one of the dark horses or favorites?

 

They might win some batting shoot outs but their bowling is so pedestrian it’s a joke.

 

Ravi Rampaul still playing in 2021

 

I will quit the forum if windies win the WT20 or any tournament with this bowling.

Effectiveness depends upon the pitches. Also do not judge performances based on practise games alone.

Forgot about Walsh. Decent prospect among the bunch. Hope he does well.

 

Rest might have some individual attributes but collectively they are mediocre. 
 

They have no strike bowler.

 

Even Afghan- Rashid/Mujeeb/Nabi , Srilanka- Hasaranga/ Dhananjaya/Chameera, Bangladesh- Fizz/Shakib have what you call strike bowlers. None of their bowlers are at that level. Holder probably comes close  to those names but so far in T20 he has been mediocre apart from one off here and there.

Bravo, Russell, & Pollard, along with Gayle who can slip in an over or two, are experienced cricketers who can utilize the conditions well ... I am not sure if Russell and Bravo played the first warm up game. WI is probably trying its bench strength

Their bowling attack in 2012:

Rampaul, Badree, Sammy, Narine, Samuels

 

In 2021:

Rampaul, Walsh, Bravo, Russell, McCoy, Chase

 

Looks to be stronger than the two times they won the WC.

Why is Narine not in the squad

Batting  isn't impressive either, all hacks in top 5 not a single batter who can hold an innings in a slump. They can be easily  managed on these slow wickets.

Not made himself available for international selection to avoid playing any domestic cricket, which is a requirement by WICB.

Cant believe Ravi Rampaul is still playing..god sake he debuted in 2003 wow and i still remember he troubling indian batsmen raina yuvraj with his slower ball and yorkers in 2005/6..he was a good death bowler and used to tonk a few when batting..lol during those times Ganguly was indian captain,tendulkar dravid was playing in prime,kumble was our prime bowler and dhoni was still checking tickets.. long time man
