I saw it coming. WI is not that good a side on these pitches. Its all about conditions.

They need a mix of players. Loading the side exclusively with six hitters and dot ballers can lead to this. They can be a dangerous side with a mixture of both types of players. A reason why contribution of these players look immense in the IPL as they have players to complement their style. Despite their world cup wins their win/loss ratio is above 1 only against England/Australia among major nations. Even vs bangladesh 7 wins 7 losses. Against NZ/India/Pakistan/Srilanka they have lost more than they have won.

Had wi batted sensibly and consolidated a bit they had a shot this game. Even baseball isn’t all about hitting home runs. You have to steal bases, bunt the ball, give someone a walk etc etc.

Moeen run out ...However, chasing a low total and the line up that Eng has, wkts down has zero impact on the game (Eng could afford to lose 2-3 more and still not sweat)

Windies must play both hope and chase in these conditions, too many hacks. Had  they assessed pitch  conditions today and scored atleast 130 , they would have been in the game.

Looking at how PKXI/DC/KKR few other teams struggling to close out the easier games i can see the same pattern here. Today Australia almost bottled it before Stoinis knocked off those runs. But West Indies was intent on going for moon instead of readjusting their target. Now England will win with zero pressure.
