They need a mix of players. Loading the side exclusively with six hitters and dot ballers can lead to this. They can be a dangerous side with a mixture of both types of players. A reason why contribution of these players look immense in the IPL as they have players to complement their style. Despite their world cup wins their win/loss ratio is above 1 only against England/Australia among major nations. Even vs bangladesh 7 wins 7 losses. Against NZ/India/Pakistan/Srilanka they have lost more than they have won.

Suhaan Posted October 23, 2021 Posted October 23, 2021 Very sluggish, Natrajan would have been India's ace here Unfortunately wasn't fit
Kothili Posted October 23, 2021 Posted October 23, 2021 What a Borefest, this World cup already is. nitinbwj and ShoonyaSifar 1 1
vvvslaxman Posted October 23, 2021 Posted October 23, 2021 A total of 140 could have even been defended. Last time they had Badree. This time they have nobody to match him.
maniac Posted October 23, 2021 Posted October 23, 2021 Had wi batted sensibly and consolidated a bit they had a shot this game. Even baseball isn’t all about hitting home runs. You have to steal bases, bunt the ball, give someone a walk etc etc. Lord 1
zen Posted October 23, 2021 Posted October 23, 2021 (edited) Moeen run out ...However, chasing a low total and the line up that Eng has, wkts down has zero impact on the game (Eng could afford to lose 2-3 more and still not sweat) Edited October 23, 2021 by zen
maniac Posted October 23, 2021 Posted October 23, 2021 This fight might just inspire WI to get better and play more sensibly.
speedheat Posted October 23, 2021 Posted October 23, 2021 Windies must play both hope and chase in these conditions, too many hacks. Had they assessed pitch conditions today and scored atleast 130 , they would have been in the game.
vvvslaxman Posted October 23, 2021 Posted October 23, 2021 Looking at how PKXI/DC/KKR few other teams struggling to close out the easier games i can see the same pattern here. Today Australia almost bottled it before Stoinis knocked off those runs. But West Indies was intent on going for moon instead of readjusting their target. Now England will win with zero pressure.

zen Posted October 23, 2021 Posted October 23, 2021 Just now, Lord said: still going at under 7 rpo which is good for the surface ... +3-4 of RRR
Nikola Posted October 23, 2021 Posted October 23, 2021 Will they provide similar pitch for tomorrow's match?
maniac Posted October 23, 2021 Posted October 23, 2021 T20 is not boom-bang. You still need brains and a strategy. 2 brainless teams playing and it is an eyesore. SrinjayDutta 1
vvvslaxman Posted October 23, 2021 Posted October 23, 2021 Just now i realized England batting is weak without Stokes. Joe Root would have been a perfect candidate on these pitches. He rotates strike better than these guys.
