Have you given up hopes on the Indian cricket team in ODIs and T20 events till the captain and coaching staff is changed ?

The last tournament had hopes for was World Cup in 2019. After that, I knew we ain't winning anything. Too many people need to be changed. We are repeating the same mistakes every time. Dropping Dhawan from this World T20 seems like an achievement. Unless big personnel changes happen, we will keep choking.

Indian team will go as far as top order will take them . SKY is showing why he was not selected for so many years. IPL is not international cricket.

He has played a grand total of 5 international matches, out of which he didn’t bat in one innings, scored two 50s, scored a 30 & scored a 11. So essentially he has failed once.

by that yardstick many international batsmen won’t be cutout for anything other than league cricket.

Yes absolutely. The captain is a mental midget, always fails in knockout games and even the press conferences he holds before crucial games shows that he has already given up.

I mean before Test Championship final, he was saying things like "one game won't define the character of the team" showing a mentality that he had already given up the match and was preparing for the fallout even before a ball has been bowled. I know that your question is for LOIs but the mentality is the same in big games.

There is no hope from this captain or coach. We have to get newer players into our LOI setup and preferably have a young captain.

I don't get this thread. Captain and coaching staff is going to anyways change at the end of this tournament and minus a few names that too in bowling not one person called this team irrelevant in t20s.

Nothing wrong with Indian cricket.

Yep, for me this is a reminder of 2007 ODI WC, NZ match could well seal that deal. Need the youthful energy and exuberance of the 2007 T20 WC to follow.

I agree,my assessment is very harsh on SKY. I hope I am wrong , what I saw from last year from SKY was his lack of fear. I did not see that this year from him. Is it expectations or lack of form?

Not quite. Captain stays the same for ODIs. Next World Cup is an ODI WC and surely we should not trust Kohli to lead us in it.

If we get knocked out tomorrow, no way will Kohli stay as the ODI captain. The heat was on even before the WC began.

Hell after the embarrassing loss to Pak, he needs to win this WC to redeem himself as a captain. BCCI has already clipped his wings.

T20 loss won't effect ODI captaincy. He quit T20 precisely to save ODI captaincy

Why should he lose captaincy at all. His record as a captain in all formats is impeccable.yes he has not won any major tournament. He reached finals and semis of all major tournaments he has captained.

Was Graeme Smith a bad captain or Dhoni bad captain , his teams never won a t20 world cup after 2007 and he has captained more T20 world cups than any other captain.

FYI I want Kohli  gone as a captain in all formats because it is dragging him down as a batsman and his captaincy has reached its shelf life.Recently his teams are playing scared in big spots.

Dhoni had immunity after 2011 WC.

Graeme Smith lost to ATG Aussies in 2007.Retired after 2011 WC

Kohli's record in bilaterals maybe good but tactically he seems very poor. Specially when we have Rohit as option who looks better.

I have no problem with his Test captaincy.

I don't know man. If we lose tomorrow and get knocked out, Kohli's captaincy will be *ed. Don't forget he got smashed by Pak in this WC.

I don't see anything wrong tactically in his captaincy. He is stuck with very unbalanced squad. One match was fluke in CT2017.2019 batting failed including himself. You are holding that against him? Are you kidding me.Which captain has not lost two matches in knock out stages.

There is nothing with his captaincy, it is his own batting in big spots which failed him as a captain.

It is not his fault when people have moronic expectations. He has to go as captain in all formats.

I'm not talking of results. But some of his decisions

2019 WC buildup the no. 4 slot was handled very inefficiently. Eventually we had Pant at 4 without any prior experience straight in semis. In that game in form Shami was also dropped for Chahal in overcast conditions.

In 2017 CT final,he won the toss and bowled. Again we played 2 spinners at expense of Shami entire tournament

Such decisions are obvious mistakes and change a game.

He's definitely not the best tactically.

2007 T20 world cup Rohit Sharma was played his first match in a very crucial match against SA without any experience at all and he was the highest scorer after Yuvraj's injury. Pant was a regular test keeper in 2019.There is nothing called building up for spot..Dhawan got injured so Rahul went up the order.

Raina was in team before Kohli .Kohli he became core member by 2011 and Raina was on fringes. It is not TM's fault if players don't grab their chances.

Like Ashwin's noball turned 2016 t20 semi final win into a loss.Bumrah's noball did the same in 2017, who knows what would have happened if Fakhar got out early.

Is Kohli tactically best no but I don't think his tactics played much role in defeats. But people need to stop making Kohli into a dud captain.

Well for one he is out of form, he didn’t have a great IPL too, I believe.

This is the first time he is playing WC & also against Pak. These are pressure situations, the entire team looked like the had seen a ghost, so let’s wait & see.

I completely agree, he needs more chance to prove himself.I really hope we see last year's SKY if we see that we will have a trump card in our lineup.
