You can call India any name you want now, but we have seen Pakistan teams crumble against out of form indian teams and players before in world cup matches. 

We gifted kohli a century in 2015 when he was out of sorts and missed out on an easy rohit run out in Manchester 2019 for example because we could just not execute or think clearly.

 

Having observed these players from close quarters,  they are a great deal different from those in the past.

A guy like Rizwan for example who has seen spectacular career mobility in the last 2 years doesn't even care about the outcome as his belief in predestination is immense. They just believe in the process and trust the method to bring them success.

 

On top of that, the toxicity of past Pakistan dressing rooms isn't there. They are united and have a purpose.

They are nowhere as talented as the team of the 90's but as told by most journos they are much better human beings and their priorities are right.

 

If this bunch stays together; with leaders like Rizwan, Babar, Shaheen; i see a good future.

I am only interested in cricket. From a cricketing PoV, I would not put money on Pak at this point as the team is moving towards the knockout and a bad game (unless it is able to sustain momentum like SL in 1996) 

 

Unlike in group stages, in the knockouts (SF/F), you usually play against teams that are in form or gathering form 

 

What I like about Pak is that it is doing most of the things right at the moment from a tactical perspective such as taking the opportunity to bat first here

Pak is playing sensible cricket without any nerves. We played the 2 matches like phattus. May be the players dont want to play under kaptaan egomaniac. That's their way of doing it. I blame Kohli and the TM.. No one else. Once Kohli goes from the team, we will see the results.

When the leadership and mentality isnt right, the team will underperform in all areas and departments.  The opposite is true when they both work and the team is more than the sum of its parts. We are better than what we have shown the last 2 games.

Even if he goes for 60 runs in 3 overs, I would pick him over Bhuvi and not just based on their WC returns but their performances over the last 2-3 years.

Realistic would be a close game with India chasing in 18-19 overs or India scoring 150-170 and bowling out Afghan for 130.

I don't think anyone is questioning the fact that Shaheen is the better bowler.

 

I think what New Guy is trying to point out is that the conditions are vastly different while bowling first and second due to the dew.

 

Compare Shaheen spell today as opposed to his opening spell Vs India and Afghanistan

i didn’t know vice captain was so high in the chain when it came to decision making, then sure  if it makes you feel better -Rohit,Bharat Arun,Rathour and Sridhar along with the physio, throw down guy and massage guy as well.
