None of the other three were specialist batsmen.

Imagine this clown leading our test team in an all important tour of SA.  Our lower order won't bail us in SA, unlike it does in India.  Mostly likely we shall be whiteswashed.

IF South Africa series go ahead and IF he curbs his outside offstump poking habit, I guess SA is a good place to score his 71st than SL at home. Currently his spin playing ability is next to nil and we anyway will dishout turners at home and SL has better spinners than Eng and NZ so I dont see him doing well here. SA on the other hand gave no good spinners or spin track and occasionally we would get flat bed as well. So I feel we would get lucky in  one innings where pitch, condition and opposition bowlers are in favorable conditions and he would cash in on them

I think team was better unit yesterday. My interpretation Is based in celebration and communication between Virat and player. Hope he continues on this trajectory and finally becomes a respected skipper.

Every batsman goes through a lean patch. Gavaskar did, SRT did. I am sure he will recover. He just needs to let go of this captaincy and the form will return quickly.

I definitely would play Ashwin ahead of Rahane at number 5. lol.
