The problem is birth registration is not uniform across india like uk and europe where you get a code as far as i know from the hospital. This is a digital code and it cannot be tampered with. With this code you go to the council and get the birth certificate. India has progressed so well in digital initiatives payments food delivery etc etc but no idea why such an important aspect of life is ignored. Even application for passport where you have to pay the police station etc.

Age fudgers everywhere. U19 WC is becoming a joke. Maybe it's better to cancel it altogether. Alternatively, criteria for selection must be considerably tightened to keep age fudgers out of the game

Age fudging to get into a younger age  age bracket(u14 etc), even at district level is done for kids to stand out against their competition. The kid knew he was playing with unfair advantage, ofcourse others also might be doing that. But he made it big so now he will be made an example of

Not one hitter we got even at Raina level less said about Yuvraj. Raina and Yuvraj have so good body Ballance that they used to hit equally well in leg and off side. Now for Pant, Iyer , Kishan and Pandya if you ball fast low full toss or Yorker on 4-5 th stump they all looks complete hack. Pant and Iyer both missed so many full balls on off stump, WI should have adopted that strategy from start than 20th over.

Lot of the players fudge age in domestic but most them are filtered out at u16 level by BCCI every year by medical test. Like these.

When Dravid was U19 coach and NCA head, he was very particular about 2 things:
1. Age fudging should not happen
2. Players should participate only once in the U-19 WC

Asian teams should only play u19 asia cup where all players will actually be u25. Other nations should play t20 worldcup.

If he has fudged, it's not just about him - the results achieved by the team with his contributions become farcical. This is a serious issue and only strict rules like penalty at the team level can provide the motivation to nip it in the bud. That being said, I feel that if there is an Under 23 world cup, it might reduce the need for fudging because arguably, a 23 year old and a 25-26 year old are both grown ups and the advantage of being older isn't a factor any more.

Yeah...that is tough. His dad died of covid 2 years back. He will be the one to bear the consequence all alone.Sometimes parents lead you on the wrong path.

Yes he looks to be and bcci will dealt with it unlike pcb who kept hiding age for Naseem Shah inspite of knowing he is age fudger to get some brownie points in history book.
