After a whirlwind 190 in the first match he has made another 69 in 103 balls 8 fours 2 sixes. So far in this season  2 innings 263 runs  avge of 131.50 at a striker ate of 103.  He bats at no.7 for his state. That is where we need impact players. Although he is not remotely close to be considered for tests his natural aggressive approach will help us in T20. Adding additional skill to his big hitting skill will fast track his selection for India.

powerful shah rukh khan. also noticed how all these new bachhas from TN are tall. some quite burly too. 

venky iyer - 6'2 probably 90 kg

shah rukh khan - 6'1 6'2 90 kg

 

sundar is 6'2 6'3 - lightweight but he is a real bachha. he showed how clutch he is in australia and vs england at home regardless. 

even baba aparjith is 6 foot plus

vijay shankar is 6 foot big frame but no strength

ashwin 6'2 6'3  but not strong

 

only nattu is a bit low in weight

A total of 1700 runs across formats for him. Is in great Nick, ticks many boxes but too early for a spot in the T20 side.

 

His best bet - carry on the Ranji form and then have a smashing IPL season.

ATM just a spin hitter and thats not such a rare skill in India.

 

As for scores,even Mandeep has scores of 150 and 84 in  last 2 games

Manish Pandey also made a fast 100. I am not talking about washed up first class players. This guy did well in Vijay Hazare too.

He is good for T20 he recently hit six to finish chase looks to be for shorter format at least.

yes Too late. I thought he was just a spin basher. Not just spinners. He destroyed all 3 seamers during his 194. Initially they dished him out some short deliveries. As the innings progressed he ferociously pulled them for sixes.

If we use filters we will have to discard all the players including the current set of players.  Given that we suck mostly against swing and spin we need someone to clear boundaries against spin too.

Can rook do it against quality pacers though? 140 plus? Can he pull them

We don't know. But we back players who for sure can't pull 140 plus.

But he is from TN. There is racial bias against South Indians. He won't get picked and backed.

I am not sure that is still the case. Nowadays IPL bias is probably there more than any other bias.  If he is a part time bowler he would have definitely been in the consideration.  If Venky Iyer does not bowl i am  sure he would not have been picked.  Bit like how they picked Vijay Shankar despite there were plenty of domestic talents in the batting department.  Nowadays it is very hard to get selected purely as a batsman.  Iyer slogged in domestic for so long. Even Shreyas Iyer's position is not safe. He has to work on his leg spin a bit to boost his chances. Shubman Gill is possibly the best under-19 player in recent times. In fact he was the best from any country.  Never had a run. Most probably he may never get a run until big guys retire.

I think SRK (the cricketer) is 6'3. that's my impression of him.
