Ankit_sharma03
babar has just played 38 test and pant already 29 m i thought babar wud have played 50+ by now atleast Link to comment
Majestic
Babar Azam. He is the reincarnation of Sachin Tendulkar. Pant is a Matthew Wade and Henry Nicholls level hack with the bat. Ab thoko troll! Norman, raki05 and Sgattick10 3 Link to comment
rahul58
For me it is not fair to compare Babar with Pant. Babar is a pure batsman while Pant is more of a hitter so in test cricket, Babar is definitely better batsman. I would not bet on Rishabh Pant to score more test runs than Babar Azam. Link to comment
Vijy
babar is better as an overall test batter, but Pant has had more game-turning or at least potentially game-changing innings (normalized by total no. of innings each have played). I don't think the thread is fair to either babar or pant. what next? Babar vs Jaddu (who has a higher avg in tests since 2016/2017, I think) Real McCoy, nevada and sandeep 3 Link to comment
jf1gp_1
Compare with rizwan if you want to but makes no sense to compare with babar. Link to comment
vvvslaxman
Pant doesn't really have to have great numbers like 50 average or something lke that. He is a keeper batsman. Credit to him he has played some stellar decisive Test innings. He is just an impact player one way or the other. He has already played enough good knocks. Because of trimurthis his name got spoilt somewhat as he was expected to be responsible after they repeatedly triggered a collapse. With better top/middle order he will have better consistency. On the other hand Babar is their key batsman overseas. Link to comment

Yes. Babar is technically a good batsman except against leggies probably. I will be surprised if he doesn't improve his numbers from here on. The roles are different. Link to comment

He will average mid 40s at peak and eventually ending career at 41-42. AuxiliA 1 Link to comment

wanted_desi
Babbar is stat padder like Amla whereas Pant is more like Gilchrist. Maybe similar thread would be Amla vs Gilchrist! AuxiliA and raki05 2 Link to comment
Vijy
babar was poor in tests for a while, then he improved massively, and then regressed again somewhat. Pant did well, had a bad run in between, and seems to be getting back to form in last 2 tests. Link to comment
