He's changed his batting approach and is trying to control risk - its not always easy to instantly switch gears - and the ball he got out on was just 'off' enough to skew his shot.  An inch or so difference in line and that goes for 6.  Small margins in t20 cricket at the highest level.  I don't think he's "lost" that ability to hit pace, he's just batting 'differently'.  And let's be fair - today with 4 down, he played the hand that was required - he needed to stay there till the end and he managed to do that while batting at 150+ SR.   Could he have done better? Sure.  I would expect him to nail that shot for 6 -the one he got out on.  but **** happens.  Its part of the game.

Harshal, Axar etc aren't batsmen - they may get a few shots in, when its their day.  that's the point I've been making - T20 cricket can only afford to carry 2 maybe 3 max 'bowlers'.  The 4th and especially 5th bowling options have to offer boundary hitting capabilities.  Else they are impacting team balance, especially in  a team where almost nobody in the top 5 bowls.

Whatever reason he has, may be  changed his gameplan not sure why. But he clearly lost his ability to hit sixes against fast bowlers. Best i have seen him in 2019 at lower order hitting post that he has regressed on offside and on bouncers. Even against Ireland on this 59 meter boundaries he was unable to hit sixes. If he play at top order that's not an issue but for finishers hitting sixes should be necessary.

DK with the gloves - Ishan must be feeling the pressure - if Kishan isn't the 'keeper, a top order specialist batsman slot is hard to hold on to in India, especially if you tend to blow hot and cold like he does...

Kishan needs to improve his game ... or the more he plays, the more other teams learn about him, the more he is likely to be eventually dropped

Good, they should. if they can't contribute, get the hell out of the team. we already carry lot of baggage.

I like Arshdeep from whatever I saw in ipl....Atleast he doesn't reply on 1000 of slow ball variations and nail Yorker at the death.

Krunal Pandya? Very bad choice! Dude cannot handle pace. Doesn't spin the ball and is not an accurate darter.

There's tewatia, Sundar, Lalit Yadav, shabhaz, abhisekh, go deeper into domestic cricket shams Mulani, anukul roy etc, lot a options to choose from.

Arshdeep has the longest run up in the world for a 120 kph bowler. lol. If he has to bowl 140 kph, he probably needs to run in from Jalandhar.

138 kmph, lets not be harsh on him

The last two ipl seasons has done more harm than good, so many midgets around, we could end up having Shaw, pant, shardul, Rohit with their bellies and midgets like Kishan, chahal, bishnoi, guys like axar, harshal are always at the gym lifting, shitty vegetarian diets should be banned for good, like how on earth with all the resources available, truck loads of protein sources available you end up being looking like this. Atleast vvs, dravid, yuvi, kumble, Zak, Sourav, Srinath and prasad were tall, we had pretty tall attack back then.

If you make them crorepati vis ipl, then their is no motivation for improving the fitness which reflected in national results.
