When was the last time we had an Indian seam bowling all rounder in the top 10 in any format?

 

what an asset this guy has become in LOIs

Brruv, pandya is top 5 in odi. 

He isn't number 8 because he is a good player. Something kohli isn't.

He was always a valuable asset.  There was no doubt in his talent and dedication. 

 

Availability was the only issue.  Hoping that has changed totally, and that his workload is managed well.

If you want to hype him then I think there are better ways than mentioning the ICC rankings of 8th on current form to showcase how great he has been in LOIs.

 

What makes it worst is some of the names ahead of him in that ranking - Mitchell Santner for example

As the key player. Pant did nothing much (apart from the inning in the last ODI v Eng), similarly Rohit, who made some runs in an extremely low chase in an ODI (Rohit is a space blocker so does not even count)
 

Don't be afraid to give credit (he is not running away from getting booed. His tagline is - "need more haters as the old ones are now fans" )!

Any format? Ashwin has been in top 10 since 2013 lol. All rounders are limited in numbers.

I will give him all credit, but you said he’s getting featured cap for captaincy that he wasn’t part of wins. Also the role of captain isn’t just that of his performance, but of ringing the bowling changes and also  backing and motivating the right players. You should credit Rohit for not losing a series since he took over. 
 

As far as booing is concerned, nobody cares about him so much to even boo him. He has to win a WC to get that iconic status.

I am considering him as a player (and captaincy where applicable as it adds the 4th dimension to his cricket, i.e. adds to his good performances w/ bat & ball) ... As for captaincy, I know what it means when non-performing players are unnecessarily praised for captaincy 

 

A good captain understand that he is a part of the 11 and leads by example (not be a burden on the side)

Lol whats more cringe pandya or their fans.....even if people tryvto appreciate pandu him and his fan girls come up with such a cringe or arrogance that you will end up criticizing them. As far as OP is concerned he is in great company where he is ranked below atleast 2 Bangladeshis.

Don't indulge in the stupid game of bullet points. Its an excuse to create hype out of thin air. 

 

For instance if one were to go by citing MoS awards, even Bhuvi koomarr will be a forum legend and ahead of Zaheer. Thankfully no bhaktjan here thinks of him as a sure shot in the XI. 

 

This rankings business can be transitory. Its worth consideration if a player sticks around in the top tier for an extended period of time.

Hardik atm has no competition as pace all rounders in odis. Cameron green is just starting and i guess mitchell marsh doesn't play much odis. Stokes retired. Holding too doesn't play alot now.
