Theoretically it could be more peaceful if everyone was fearful of the dangers. Realistically, some jihadi or buffoon general/dictator from ME/Africa/NK would be trigger happy and kill millions while rendering some percentage of earth as a wasteland for centuries. So in a way one can see what US is trying here.
