I can't even think of anyone close.

Ticks all the boxes of what to be a bad fielder.

One of worst catchers ever if not the downright worst, poor thrower, can't run properly to chase the ball let alone slide or dive.

Worst was seen yesterday when he knowingly didn't go for the catches couple of times.

has to be Munaf Patel

So, why have selectors and multiple team managements not been able to notice what a message board poster (albeit an unusually astute one) can see so clearly on TV.

Dosti, what else? His selection has nothing to do with merit, Bishnoi needed one game to show who's who!!!

With his batting/catching/fielding creds, he would need to be a Shane Warne level bowler to justify his place in the XI.

He a kind of guy who would quickly move away from the ball (at first) when a catch is coming his way, and make it look like there wasn't even a catch.

Does it every time, wonder what TM, fielding coach, colleagues etc. are thinking!!!! This is unacceptable, better go for catches and fail than back out like a coward. Dunno how many more games/tourneys he is going to cost us , he is so so scared of the moving ball coming in his direction, whether while batting or fielding.

he is also scared of the ball when he's bowling.

Munaf Patel was lethargic. And hence did lots of misfields.   Chahal on the other hand is not exactly lethargic, yet does lots of misfields as he gets blown away by wind speed exceeding 30 kmph,  becz of his light weight. (40 kg).  Can't fault him really.

Looking at his frame, unathletic look, size i don't think he can be a good fielder even he wants to. He is over 30 looking like 40. It is hard to become a good fielder now. DK is also short. He is 5 years older than Chahal. But he is much more atheltic than this turd.

Surely he can be safe catcher and atleast not avoid balls

he has midget hands, so he can't catch anything larger than lemon. he can catch some balls, but not of the cricketing kind (of the body kind instead)

If he can hold it while bowling, can catch it too.

The selectors, team management & entire team should be forced to watch the Pak & SL effort in the field y'day. The Pak fielding is where we were (ok, not as bad as them) & SL is where we need to be. Lankans played like they were there to win, unbelievable intensity & focus. Everyone else ends up looking like a tourist.

The first criteria for selection in the team must be physicality and athletic ability. Look at the players of SENA countries, almost all of them have athletic and bear muscles. Their bowlers mishits goes into the stands. Look at ours bhuvi, arsh, chahal, etc. You have to be exceptionally talented like tendulkar for physical shortcomings which none of our chomu bowlers have.

Bumrah has improved, but even the fielders close their eyes in prayer when Bumrah is under the ball.

Siraj is another 1.

Looking at Ashwin run behind the ball in slow motion,  we always get the feeling that his pants might just drop short of the ball

^ Another one of those biases: ball going against right handers. Yea it may be harder for some batsmen if your leggie is quality. It doesn't mean every right hander will crap his pants the moment a leg spinner arrives.
