If stats are everything then why do we even have selectors. Just filter the stats as per you liking and team is there. (Although our selectors seems to be doing the same.)

This is the reason that plagues indian cricket. Players like Krishna had to wait for the likes of Vinay Kumar and Mithun to get aside to get his place in his domestic side. Because they had the so called stats and couldn't be replaced. Likes of kartik tyagi and many more like him also has to wait because there are many ahead of them for the same reason.

As far as pacers are concerned potential to represent India should also be the critirea. Identify them and groom them rather than to wait for them to have stats.

So Shami is most likely to replace Bumrah.

If not for Jadeja's injury, our bowling attack would have been

Bhuvi

Shami

Jadeja

Ashwin

That's the exact bowling attack that we used to play back in 2013. And we're in 2022. :giggle:

And even more hilarious thing is that Umesh Yadav is also playing T20is and is still on the radar. :hysterical:

If they had not retired, we would probably have played Kapil, Binny and Madan for their World Cup winning experience away from home.  :phehe:

Disagree.

You will see Down Under one of our spinners do well in the conditions.

Its actually our only hope in the WC.

Which one?

I'm intrigued.

Shami being in standby was always the first one to replace Bumrah unless he too was injured but the problem is he hasn't played any competitive cricket since July.

Deepak Chahar is not playing because he is likely to be announced replacement of Bumrah and might be travelling to Australia.

All trundler attack going to Australia then.

Hopes of Siraj replacing Bumrah is evaporating fast coz of the following reasons:

1) Despite the helpful conditions, he could not pick any wicket yesterday.  Yes, his first 3 overs looked threatening.  But he looked ordinary after that. Overall eco.rate was also poor on that pitch where Parnell and Rabada looked much more threatening. Death bowling is not his cup of tea.

2) Is one of our worst fielders (like Arshdeep).   Drops more than he catches. Has a negative/unathletic body language on the field. Only a matter of time that he will also drop a dolly and cost us crucial game,   like how Arshdeep did against Poyz in asia cup.

Siraj showed really good signs at death in the last T20I and first ODI.

He actually bowled well at death

He was awesome in death in 2021 but horrible in 2022 .

So their are obvious doubt which siraj will turn up. If he gets his lengths right he ll be fine in t20 coz he has all the tools. Length is something that can be worked on which is why im willing to take a punt on him.

Yes he can loose points on fielding for sure

Specially when others guys like chahar n thakur are giving extra value with bat.

When its comes to such calls all such things are taken into consideration

As it stands:

First 11 should be:

Rohit

KL

Kohli

SKY

H Pandya

DK

Axar

Ashwin

B Kumar

M Shami

Arshdeep

If you want to play Y Chahal, you will need to also need to play Harshal and replace with Ashwin/Axar & Arshdeep/Shami (due to batting issues).
