Per the squad announced - either Shami or D. Chahar is expected to be the replacement for Bumrah as they are reserves. 
 

IIRC, there was news of Siraj and Umran being picked as net bowlers, implying that they are not part of the main squad yet. 
 

However, BCCI can make any change without restrictions up to Oct 9th.

Siraj for me - everyone has issues but his is only one-  getting lengths right which can be worked on . Since he is in solid match practice and has all skill set he wud adjust the fastest . If he gets it right he can atleast compensate 40% of bumrah the bowler . Agar risk lena hi hai to most skillful aur in rhythem bowler pe lo

I would replace Harshal Patel also, niggle him out.

D Chahar

U Yadav

Its a 2 fold adjustment for me..

1)I will go with Chahar..esp seeing last match bowling..and also he brings batting into the mix..

He is not a replacement for Bumrah but I am trying to just pick whatever pieces we have left..

I wud hv preferred Shami  if he was match fit with enough match practice

2) replace Harshal with Siraj to get someone to hit the deck along with Pandya..I dont think Harshal is consistent enough to be our death bowler

Additionally:
3)Infact they also need to induct Bishnoi to get some penetration in middle overs

I want Bhuvi, chahal harshal to be niggled replace them with Siraj and umran and bishnoi instead of shami play Deepak so you have a variety in ur attack swing bowler and lower order hitter in Deepak, skillful bowler in siraj who bowls at lively pace, an out and out quick bowler in umran and a tall accurate left armer in arshdeep plus a very good spinner in bishnoi and axar

No one is gonna make a big difference, specially at this stage... considering our other bowlers are poor as well.

 

One option is to load the team with as many options as possible with the bat and try to score big.

 

We aren't gonna defend 170-180 totals with this bowling, 210-220+ is the only option we can have to escape with a win.

Just remember, we have only 2 chances to qualify to next round. Beat either Pak or SA at the minimum. Everyone beats BD and 2 other associates. Else we will be left to an equation where we can qualify only if PNG beats Pak (for instance)

Go for Chahar and bolster the batting. Our bowling can't be fixed in just a couple of weeks.

 

All our potential phast bowlers bleed runs like hell anyway. We have no substitute for Bumrah.

Batting till 9, Bhuvi is in leagues of Chahal and Arshdeep.

Another advantage would be opposition batrers would be hesitant to thrash him like Harshal and Boobi dye to elderly respect.

Siraj, ability is already proven and was good in IPL 2021.

 

Also has strong memories of leading attack in Bumrah's absence in Aus although in different format.

 

He's most complete fast bowler among options we have.
