tweaker Posted October 8, 2022 Posted October 8, 2022 (edited) The All-India Senior Selection Committee named Washington Sundar as replacement for Deepak Chahar for the remainder of the ODI series against South Africa. Edited October 8, 2022 by tweaker
Majestic Posted October 8, 2022 Posted October 8, 2022 Sundar should be sixth bowler and drop Ruturaj or Kishan. Lord 1
coffee_rules Posted October 8, 2022 Posted October 8, 2022 He should have been in the WC squad or at least reserves , if he is fit to play ODIs

But flexibility is something he has to work on. 1) Finger injury (twice) 2) COVID 3) Hamstring Pull 4) Should injury (while fielding) some of the issues unavoidable. But having one after another make him look unfit. Some of the injuries didn't last long. But long enough to be kept him out.
tweaker Posted October 8, 2022 Author Posted October 8, 2022 (edited) The seniority queue system is still followed by Chetan Sharma and Co. The spots are rotated between superstars who take breaks, ie Virat,Rahul, etc and injured players who make an appearance and again gets niigle out,Ie Chahar,Sundar. Why the selectors are not looking beyond the seniority queue. As Bumrah ,Shami are injured and Chahar was going to be Bumrah. 's replacement, why was he selected for the odi squad. The spot could have gone to any young pacer Edited October 8, 2022 by tweaker express bowling and raki05 2

vvvslaxman Posted October 8, 2022 Posted October 8, 2022 "But few know that Sundar is deaf in one ear. According to reports, he was four to five years old when he told his parents about this disability. They took him to doctors, but nothing happened. Sundar has credited his father and early coaches for shaping his cricketing career." Adorable Fan, tweaker, raki05 and 1 other 4

I think it is important when you get injured. Most of the time he gets injured right before the tour begins or series begins. That way he is a bit unlucky. Siraj broke his fingers in the test before test started. Then shoulder injury right before zimbabwe series.
vvvslaxman Posted October 8, 2022 Posted October 8, 2022 All said and done, lucky or unlucky he has to find a way to stay injury free even if it is not in his hand. Lot of players go without injuries for years. raki05 1

Washi has a very high ceiling in my view, but he needs to double down on fitness work, if he wants to maximize his potential. express bowling 1
