If playing on 170+ pitches, top order (#1-3) collapses or stats padding performances, can hurt the team as it would be playing catch up in the area of relative strength (batting well is expected to win Ind games).

Captaincy could turn out to be an issue too  esp. considering which bowlers are picked in the 11 and how they are used.

Axar and Harshal's batting.

They both couldn't put bat on the ball against WA XI 2nd T20. With Harshal not inspiring any confidence with the ball either they may as well replace him with Shardul.

Carrying him as an all rounder is a massive risk. He can hit when the ball is in the slot at a certain pace. I would rathe trust Ashwin the batsman over Axar the batsman.  Imagine the tall south africans hitting the deck hard at Perth. Nothing will be in his zone.  We will have 5 tailenders.

Yet according to the OP of this thread Rohit Sharma is the greatest and most successful captain in Indian history.

And Top 3 are the best batsmen available in whole of India past 5 years.

Go figure why we keep losing with such disconnect of perspectives

Can you share the captaincy stats of Rohit sharma?   I have criticized Rohit more than you can ever imagine. But not blind criticism. Look at the openers in T20 for INdia since the beginning of this year

Same stat from 2019 under Kohli. India had tried just 3 openers who were regular.

Who is experimenting more?  Kohli or Rohit? I am all for legit criticism. Blindly throwing temper tantrum over everything and anything is not good.

One way or the other, whole preparation looks downright shoddy with injuries ,last minute inclusions, exclusions.

Pathetic and so typical of Indian cricket.

Same thing happened in the last ODI WC, where last minute inclusions and poor preparations screwed us over. As to be expected India lost early wickets in a final and our middle order never got the adequate preparation for a situation like that as Hitman, Dhawan and Kohli were too busy wanting to stat pad and win meaningless bi lateral series.

I struggle to grasp how I and many other posters on here can understand and comprehend what needs to be done better than TM, the BCCI and the captain.

Selection squad should be fired. Knowing very well the conditions are suitable for high pace not carrying even one is criminal.

We are not playing at WACA. That Perth pitch is not the same as WACA.

Not worried about a thing. Every win by this team is a bonus. Remember that we were on course to lose against even Hong Kong recently.

When were we losing against Hong Kong?

Slow batting by Kohli and rahul. Kohli's 57(49) against Pakistan in last year's WC should have had him fired. Terribly useless knock to the team and the best example of stat padding.

Slow ball bowling by bhuvi and harshal. If India don't end up qualifying for the knockouts (AGAIN) i hope they both get massacred.

Other than that the team is riddled with one dimensional players and overall mediocrity. Not one single player who exudes confidence or makes you want to sit down and watch his game like say how rishabh pant bats in tests.

Yes. I know. I did the research. This also offers bounce if not the same

After seeing how middle order failed in the important matches in Asia cup, even though the top order delivered, I am worried about the same.

I am not sure how DK will do in Aus, unsure about Surya too

Pandya usually performs only once in a tournament(actual International tournament) so that's a worry too.

I am totally confident about our top order, these three are the best batsman in Australian conditions.

The selectors and the TM have completely botched our bowling. There's no confidence that they can even defend a slightly above par total let alone win matches on their own.

It's a huge shame because our batting is best it has ever been in this format. We would have been genuine contenders if our bowling was at least decent.
